Is The Punisher (PS2) The Most Violent Marvel Game?
In this review, we take a deep dive into The Punisher (2005): the gritty third-person action shooter developed by Volition and published by THQ that pushed Marvel games further than almost anything that came before or after it.
A Flawed, Charming Masterpiece | The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring (PS2) Review
I finally got around to playing The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring on PS2, and I was surprised by how different it is from what I expected.
Instead of trying to recreate Peter Jackson’s movie scene for scene, it leans much more into Tolkien’s original book. That gives it a really unique identity compared to most licensed games from that era.
It’s definitely rough in places the combat is clunky, and some mechanics haven’t aged well but there’s a charm to it that I wasn’t expecting.
Did anyone else grow up with this game? I’m curious how people feel about it today.
I also put together a video breaking down what worked, what didn’t, and why I think it’s one of the more interesting forgotten Lord of the Rings games if anyone wants to check it out.
