Forced RDO/ADO/ TOIL

Does anyone else think we are getting a bit ripped off with RDOs? In my workplace, we have to work an extra 30 minutes every day which accrues to an RDO maybe once per month. We aren’t given a choice in the matter, but whatever.

What I don’t understand, is if we were working those same hours and being paid for it instead, it would be paid as overtime at 1.5x rate. But we don’t accrue 1.5x the RDO for it. How is this not being brought up by unions?? Am I missing something?

Work from home jobs?

I’m wanting to hear from Australian pharmacists working in a related role where they can work from home. I’m too autistic and chronically ill to do this full time outside of my house thing forever 😅

Maintenance support rec

I had my first appointment at Downscale this week and was so impressed with the level of understanding, care and “bed side manner”.

I recently went to my GP to ask if she would take over my prescribing for it, to which she told me I shouldn’t take Mounjaro for more than 2 years and need to come off it. I said should I wean off slowly? She said no, you can stop now but gave me a 2.5mg pen to wean off anyway. I never felt listened, knew she wasn’t using up to date or evidence based guidance, and kept talking over me when I was answering her questions.

I paid less for an appointment at Downscale, felt so listened to and really felt that I was being given holistic care that focused on my individual situation. I felt respected in a way I didn’t at my GP, and was allowed to speak my entire story without interruption. I highly recommend booking an appointment with Downscale if your current practitioner isn’t on board with maintenance 👏

Anyone here with a health care background?

Has anyone moved from health care to teaching? What has your experience been, are you happy you did the extra study and made the move? Specifically looking at secondary teaching.

Sweating + blood pooling

What helps you the most to minimise sweating and blood pooling symptoms? My heart rate is well managed with Ivabradine, however I still struggle a lot with blood pooling in my legs and causing them to swell and ache. I also sweat so much when I have to stand up, even in winter and air conditioning.

I have compression socks, but find them incredibly uncomfortable and of very little benefit for the amount of discomfort and heat they cause me. I always try to pump my leg muscles to keep the blood pumping, but at the end of the day my legs are always swollen and sore.

Do we have ANY rights to reschedule routine inspections?

Our realestate sent a notice for the routine 3 month on the dot inspection. We will be away then for work, and aren’t comfortable with a stranger entering our home without us. Plus our cat will be home and I’m worried they will let him out. They told me they can’t reschedule due to “staff shortages”. I’m sorry is there not a surplus of realestate agents?? Do we have ANY rights to back us up to reschedule so we don’t have to put up with a stranger walking through our house unsupervised?
