I’m binging Dateline and it is only reinforcing that the police aren’t really capable of protecting anyone and even less capable of investigating the fatal crimes and catching the real perpetrators (there are always exceptions). It’s a really good example to add to my own experiences with inept policing, and I really feel like we are giving too much power (and weaponry) to people who have no business having it. On average it takes less than two years to become a police officer, be given incredible power over other people, and be given deadly weapons that kill. Policing culture is such that they protect one another over anyone else. It seems like we aren’t really getting the most qualified and best candidates to “serve and protect” our communities. The only “good cop” is one that cares so much about their job and the people that they expose their “brothers in blue” when they’re not doing their jobs.

I can’t imagine myself walking up to the bar and asking, “Can I have a Loverboy?” It feels so cringe to me 😬. Am I the only one?

I really feel like if he changed the name of his beverage he would sell a lot more of it. I feel bad that he’s having such a difficult time with it right now. He seems to really care about the people working for him, and that is admirable.

Edit: Clearly the taste of Loverboy seems to be the real issue according to the vast majority of people who have posted thus far. Thanks for the insight to those of you who provided it. If you were rude, I hope you have a lovely day. 😉

The Valley is showing you why women don’t speak out when they’ve been sexually assaulted, harassed, or raped. What is currently happening to Janet on The Valley happens to a lot of women who try to speak up about sexual assault. Jasmine, the actual victim, keeps getting shut down when she tries to talk about it. Last episode Kristin told her to be quiet because she “was drunk.” It’s abhorrent, but it is also our reality.

For those of you disgusted by what’s happening, I’m glad. I hope that you carry this disgust into your real life. For those of you still hating Janet and thinking that she should be quiet (even when she isn’t the one bringing up the sexual assault), that mentality is part of the reason women don’t speak out when they’re violated by men.

In the end we are supposed to be watching these shows to be entertained. This isn’t entertaining. It’s a lesson. As a victim of sexual assault, it’s really triggering to watch Danny not take accountability, and both Danny and Nia attack Janet and have the support from their castmates to do so. Danny has not taken accountability while he continues to throw tantrums and bully Janet, expecting her to change history.

The way she blurts out weird rumors about Rosie to try and denigrate her and tear her down is so obviously because she’s jealous of her. Half the time Kelsey doesn’t even make any sense. I have second hand embarrassment for her. Rosie needs to just ignore her at this point and let Kelsey continue with her unhealthy obsession all on her own.

This reunion is still putting Kelsey’s jealousy of Rosie on embarrassingly full display. Kelsey seems like a really insecure person. Her entire season consisted of trying to lower Rosie down to her level. Other than all of that, she isn’t very smart or funny or witty. I just don’t get it. I don’t hate her or anything. I just don’t think she serves a purpose on this show unless that purpose is to repeatedly humiliate herself. The whole thing has given me a really good appreciation of Rosie. She’s handling the situation with a lot more maturity than I might have.

They keep attacking women for calling out Danny’s bad behavior. It’s so gross. Danny deserved to be called out all last season and this season too. There is no wrong way to call out someone who sexually harasses and assaults people. His behavior when he drinks is very problematic. It’s not the same as some others who drink and occasionally have a rough night. Danny sexually assaulted women and continues to create uncomfortable and dangerous situations when he’s drinking. People need to put the focus where it belongs.

Janet always had the right to speak up about Danny’s inappropriate and drunken behavior and Danny keeps proving that. She spoke up and immediately Danny and Nia got defensive and they acted like she was an enemy. Whether Danny is an alcoholic is up for him to decide for himself, but he clearly has an issue with his behavior when he drinks.

It wouldn’t be a “weird” thing for them to do. It sounds “normal,” imo. I wouldn’t put it past any of these ladies to manufacture drama. It’s their job to make it dramatic. It’s Housewives. The ladies she said were part of it are definitely viable candidates. Porsha, Drew, and Phaedra are always bringing drama. They should just admit it, apologize, and move on.
