I underestimated the ‘Great Value’ and ‘Equate’ brand from Walmart.

I’ve been trying to cut back on my grocery bill. I’ve been meticulously trying to figure out why my bill is always high, apart from prices being high, the snack items like chips, cookies, chocolate bars, boxed mac and cheese are now more expensive than ever. Even canned tomatoes are expensive.

Although I cook 90% everything from scratch I still get my kids snacks so they don’t feel left out around their peers.

I decided to exclusively shop from Walmart for canned items, boxed sweet and savoury items, chips, coolies & chocolates along with frozen fruit and veggies and I’m seeing a very good difference this is making in cutting down my grocery budget.

Also the equate brand medicines are very reasonably priced as well.

I still buy things like milk, bread, burger buns, oil, paper towels, facial tissues, wipes, diapers, toothpaste & shampoo from Costco but everything else, like dry pantry goods, snacks and frozen fruit & veggies I now only get from the ‘Great Value’ and ‘Equate’ brand from Walmart.

Just wanted to share this with others if it might help your budget as well.

Edit: I also forgot to add, their monthly subscription for grocery delivery has been very helpful for me. Due to health issues I can’t walk much at the moment so their delivery service has been working good for me. I had only one missing item after several order whereas with the PC Express Pass I had several missing items and damaged perishable groceries. PC Express contracts to Door Dash for deliveries and none of the drivers have contacted me via text or rang my doorbell so I know the groceries are here. Several times hot perishable food items were left bare on the doorstep or gravel even after I had provided boxes to put them in. With Walmart it was never an issue. All items (perishable & non perishable) came secured.

Also, I’m not trying to promote anything here. Just sharing my experience.

…..and they’re ready!

Wow…..these are fudgy. The picture does not do justice to how decadent these are.

I swapped the water and oil for milk and butter in the recipe. Another popular swap is using brewed coffee in place of water or espresso powder.

Also, before someone accuses me of being from the marketing team, pfffft, I wish. I’m just a stay at home parent baking and sharing some joy with others, that’s all.

Just discovered this group and I’m overjoyed.

I’m so thrilled to see a group about pakistan coffee and very excited to explore everyone’s post. Like I’m beyond thrilled and I’ve just been scrolling endlessly and viewing everyone’s posts and reminiscing my youthful cafe strolling and coffee experimenting days.

Looking for coconut water recommendations to stay hydrated

I get wicked migraines despite drinking water throughout the day and read the electrolytes in this can help with hydration. I’m also trying to get rid of pop/soda in the house and was wondering if this coconut water would be a better alternative. What are your thoughts?

Bagel chip munchies at midnight 👀

Kids are asleep, husband is asleep, chores are somewhat done 👀 and it’s late night craving time with some doom scrolling.

Is this a weird combo? I love coleslaw and with bagel chips it’s even better.

Can’t decide to get one or both…..

Help! 😭

Need some reviews for a party I’m taking these two with kids and adults. Should I get both chocolate or chocolate and vanilla?

I’ve heard some good things about the chocolate but cannot find anything on the vanilla.

Surprise treat for kiddo.

He’s been having a really rough time at elementary school because the same kids keep bullying him. He’s not the most athletic but he’s super smart in math, science and everything else.

It’s been going on for 2 years now. I’ve spoken to the vice principle and principle many times, the intervene, it stops happening for a few weeks then starts again. They won’t let me talk to the parents of these kids either.

I’m on a budget and said, “F*** it, I’m getting both.”

His favourite is Tiramisu and my daughter’s favourite is the Strawberry Trifle thing.

New Costco sub for discontinued items.

Hello everyone! I’d like to welcome you all to a new Costco sub called r/CostcoHeartbreak.

Thanks to user u/kasualanderson for this clever idea. Consider it like therapy for your favourite items and who knows, if the Costco social media team ever decides to peek here they might bring some products back, I know it’s a stretch but what’s the harm in trying it and if not then at least we have a sub where we can share our favourite discontinued products.

The best dips I ever had, never to be seen again…..😭

Why do you do this Costco?! Why?!!!! 😫

I’ve never seen ‘prepared horseradish’ in Costco.

Silly title I know but I just realized I have never seen a large jar of prepared horseradish. We have pickles & sauerkraut but not prepared horseradish and a small jar outside costs $3.20 and it’s only 250ml. That’s such a small amount. My kids love it in their sandwiches and they go through that small jar in like two days 😭

Cannot decide which pickle to get. Need your suggestions.

I usually make my own but I’m too dang tired at the moment to make a new batch and just want to get some pre-made good quality ones.
