be VERY careful where you get pierced

i wanted to post this because i’ve switched piercers twice before finally finding someone i feel confident going to. please be careful, do your research beyond google and facebook reviews, instagram followers or how friendly a studio seems. a good experience at the appointment doesn’t mean theyre following the best practices.

one studio i have no shame in naming, is prickly pear. specifically the old lady who works there. (with extreme attitude issues) i went in for a belly piercing, and later found out i didn’t have the correct anatomy for one. instead of being told that (and saving myself some money) i was essentially given a surface stomach piercing. which of course, started to reject and i never went back to them.

i switched to another studio where the staff were very friendly and i initially felt really comfortable. unfortunately, i later had issues with some advanced cartilage piercings. i brought up how i believed the jewelry was too small and wasn’t allowing room for swelling/irritation and how it was constantly putting pressure on my ear. my concern was dismissed, and instead my irritation bump was poked at/popped with a qtip, which hurt WAY more than the piercing itself.

i then found the potion bar on 13th ave, and i genuinely have never had a better experience.

i brought up the same concern about my jewelry being too small and was immediately listened to. come to find out, it was too small. she swapped everything for properly sized, implant grade titanium and the relief from the pressure was basically instant.

and from what i can find, the potion bar is the only APP (association of professional piercers) member studio in the city. app membership requires studios to meet specific standards around things like sterilization, infection control, safe studio setup and appropriate high quality jewelry.

obviously people have had great experiences at other studios, and i’m not going to say that they didn’t. but i really encourage people to be cautious, ask questions and know what materials are being put into your body.

TLDR: be VERY careful who you trust to stab holes into your body. i had a badly done/rejecting navel piercing at prickly pear by the cranky old lady. then issues with improperly sized jewelry and questionable aftercare at another studio. finally went to the potion bar on 13th ave and the difference was night and day. proper implant grade titanium, actually listened to my concerns, and they’re the only APP member studio in regina. cannot recommend them enough.

edit: to find an APP member piercer in your city use this website - https://safepiercing.org/find-a-piercer/

currently the potion bar is the only one listed for regina.

what the hell is going on with these daith bumps

mainly the top one, hello??

i got it pierced july 4th, so it’s about a month old. it’s a titanium internally threaded horseshoe. i haven’t downsized it. my aftercare is spraying it with saline once a day and drying with a blow dryer on cool. i don’t sleep on it, i don’t wear airpods in this ear. i do wear a gaming headset almost every day but position it so my ear is fully in the little cushion hole area

it started bleeding yesterday night and now it looks like this. the top bump did look bigger a few days ago so im thinking it might’ve bursted somehow?? i know bumps are common and especially at only 1 month in, but the top one looks sooo freaky to me.

i did send a photo to my piercer and she thought it was from moisture. i’m not sure what to do, ive been following my aftercare exactly as she told me to

should i get her weapon?

i’m a dolphin player and usually like to secure at minimum s0r1 for each character i pull for, lynae being my only 5 star without her sig (and mornye cuz… discord)

i know this will probably be her last rerun in a very long time so im unsure if i should grab it. does it really make a big difference? or should i just leave her with static mist?

removed my sd card and fixed my ghost screen

i bought a 2019 GT last week and was already facing issues with the inevitable… ghost screen.

i was gonna try the whole removing touchscreen thing myself, but i remember seeing a comment somewhere that removing the SD card might help.

and it did! it’s only been a few days of it being gone and no ghost screen so if it returns i’ll make sure to update this post.

wanted to share in case this works for anyone else 🙏

should i expect a write-off for my car?

my beautiful 2017 ford escape se 4wd was hit while i was sitting parked in my car.

i’m not knowledgeable with cars but from my research my b pillar looks fucked. like completely fucked.

would this be considered repairable or should i prepare for a write-off call…

edit: my drivers side door doesn’t close lol

missed 3 pills, started my period

i’ve always been extremely forgetful with pills and i don’t think that’s something i can escape. i was sick for the past week and kept missing my pills. woke up this morning and my period started. this has happened to me before… because i’m awful with pills.

but i’m wondering what to do here, i still have about half a pack of my mirvala left but im unsure if i should continue with that pack as usual, even though i am bleeding. or if i wait for this period to end then start a brand new pack?

not sure what correct flair would be here, sorry.

edit: i am not currently sexually active so pregnancy doesn’t worry me. i take birth control to help my period cramps
