Ticket drop for 10/27 DC show
They just released some new tickets FYI - I got 2nd row Alex side for $185! These are off to the side a bit so... maybe I won't be able to see Loren very much but still pretty cheap!
Cord management / hiding for an *adjustable* tv wall mount?
I have a tv mounted on my wall using this mount: https://a.co/d/01moo81J
I'm trying to figure out a good way to hide the cord and still leave enough slack in it so that we can adjust the position of the TV, because we will be adjusting the position of the tv very frequently. I don't have any preference for either going in the wall or some sort of cord hiding system along the wall, as long as there's not just a big old wire hanging down the side of the bedroom wall.
Thanks!
Charge from "findfreedelivery.com?"
My mom is in assisted living and has a TrueLink pre-paid debit card that I load money onto so she doesn't have direct access to her checking account and give all her money away to scammers.
There is a $25 charge on there yesterday for "findfreedelivery.com BYT" That website is empty - just a 404 error. She doesn't have any idea what it could be. Google isn't any help either. Any ideas?
A couple issues after upgrading from the regular Smart Pro to the S model.
I just upgraded from the regular Smart Pro to the S model. New card, just the most current version of the stock firmware, nothing custom installed yet. I copied the BIOS & ROMS folders over from my old card but everything else is fresh. 2 issues I am running into:
PC Engine CD games do not show up in the menu or even as an available system when I go to edit which systems are visible. They are CHD files in the /pcecd folder. Is this still the correct folder? Any idea what could be causing this?
All Dreamcast games crash back to the menu. These are CHD files and all worked fine on the regular Pro.
I'm sure it's probably something stupid but I'm coming up empty. Any ideas?
How do you all "old people proof" your parents' computers?
My mom's PC died a couple days ago, not a user issue I don't think. It was ancient and the hard drive crashed. Rather than fix it I ordered a refurbished Dell that will be more than enough for basic desktop usage. I'm pretty good with computers but am looking for suggestions on ways to keep this running smoothly and not get full of spyware and viruses in a week.
Maybe do a linux mint install and put icons for everything she regularly uses on the desktop? And not give her the root password. This would cut back on the likelyhood of her being able to install random crap. My main concern is that it will look too different from her usual Windows set up. But she literally always just has Chrome running full screen and barely does anything else so maybe she'd get the hang of it?
I don't have a number 2. But if I were to stick with Windows anything I can do besides restricting their admin privileges and maybe scheduling a weekly Windows defender scan?
