A rare feature I found on a 2001 Corolla: ACC mode (radio/lights) also turns on AC!

I wish I knew more specific trim details - but this is a feature my mom's car has. She bought it in 2001, directly from the dealership. When turning the key towards ACC mode, without turning the engine on, this usually powers the radio and lights and things like that... But on my mom's car, it also allows you to use the AC, without having the engine running.

I'm not sure how it works, but it was a lifesaver when she would park and wait to pick me up at school, and it was a lifesaver when my sister and I started driving it to college as well. We lived in a very hot climate so the AC was definitely running, it wasn't just a fan.

Every google search I've made says that this SHOULDN'T be possible, but it is. Does anyone know why? Every car I've driven after hers, I wish had that feature lol.

edit: turns out it was running the blower motor and using the battery, which can drain it so it shouldn't be operated for long. Wish it was a more intentional feature lol 😅

How it's going... 😅 1700 budget. Still down 10 lbs!

First month and I'm so excited! And to be fair, the week of June 8-14 I was on vacation 😂
My biggest aid so far was giving up my expensive Starbucks habit for cold brew green tea. And finding Doritos Smartpop.

Do you ever regret being diagnosed? Angry that you see the mistakes and know it's because of ADHD?

I was so happy to get my diagnosis, like things finally make sense. But now I notice every single fuck-up and I can't write it off as a "totally normal mistake." And my mood swings, while I may still blame my PMDD, I now jointly-blame ADHD.

The other day I left the stove on 'Low' rather than twisting it slightly further to Off. I NEVER did that before - but that's because people usually leave me alone when I'm cooking. My mom let me know that I left it on - but that she didn't tell me or blame me, because she'd been talking to me about a bra she just got and a bunch of other things/wanting me to try it on, etc. (She's super sweet and shows clear signs of ADHD+OCD herself)

And plenty of times, as I'm leaving, and she starts talking to me in the last 5 minutes... I will forget something. I've stepped out of the house plenty of times, and realized I didn't grab my car keys, or my green tea, or my phone. Lots of times that I leave my water bottle in the kitchen because I was busy thinking of something else on the way back to my room.

And with work, sometimes I make small mistakes in the titles of notes or copy-pasting the wrong info into certain boxes. Or when clients call me, I have to verify their full name, but sometimes they talk over me/ignore me and talk, which distracts from what I had JUST asked them. (I still visibly verify the phone # they call from, it HAS to match, but we still have to ask them their name out loud..)

all of these little mistakes, I would say are normal. They seem normal. But it bothers me SO much. The other day particularly when I got into my car and realized that I forgot to grab my green tea...because I had been about to leave, and someone asked me to move like 50 things in my room so that they could fix the AC.

All these little mistakes... I used to write it off and think I was just sleep deprived, tired, easily distracted or something. Now they make me angry because WHY does this fucking disability meddle with my life SO MUCH!

edit: ffs I just accidentally took double my meds today because I saw my phone reminder and assumed I'd forgotten to take it with my breakfast cause I usually forget til lunch. But I had not. I should have had 27 left, I have 26 left. UGHHH! 😭

Torrid clothes from their Outlet store were $20 more expensive than online :(

Edit: called the store and found out I can save the screenshot and get a refund on the difference (either with a receipt or with the loyalty account/credit card to pull up the purchase info) 😄

Original post: I bought this top at their Outlet store YESTERDAY for $30 and just found it on their website for $10.
All my life I'd heard outlet stores were cheaper.
I'm so fucking disappointed and I feel scammed, I want to return it but I had already cut their paper tag off and threw it out with the receipt. I don't wanna go dumpster diving.
