Vandalized trinket trade box
There's a trinket trade box in Saugus. Saw a post from the owner that it was vandalized yesterday by some kids. They ripped off some decorations and left trash. Real class act.

Does anyone know what happened?
I've seen some "Little Free Libraries" in my neighborhood. Thanks to a friend, I found out about "Freckles' Trinket Trading Box." It's near Highlands Elementary School and is the only one in Santa Clarita. 1 item per trade. Below the main box are mini mailboxes for stickers and rubber ducks. Their Instagram is (@scv.trinkettradebox).
I was wondering why the tuition was higher for fall semester. Turns out the CSU board approved a 6% increase every academic year until 2029. It started in 2024.
Sharing this in hopes that more people can see it and spread the word.
Statement posted by Fanny Valdez on GoFundMe:
My mom is truly a ray of sunshine. She has a way of lighting up every room she walks into, and no matter what life throws her way, she always carries a smile on her face. She means absolutely everything to me.
My mom and I have always been the pillars of our household, leaning on each other through everything life has brought our way. Recently, my mom underwent an extended cholecystectomy and was diagnosed with gallbladder cancer. Thankfully, it was caught in the early stages, but the journey ahead is daunting. As she prepares to receive chemotherapy, I am struggling financially and looking for support to help us manage the expenses that come with her treatment."
The funds raised will go directly toward medical and household expenses, including rent and bills. This support will allow my mom to focus on healing and making a full recovery, without the added stress of financial uncertainty. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will help us stay afloat during this challenging time and ensure my mom gets the care she needs.
I’ve never really had to ask for help because my mom has always been my greatest source of strength and support. All I want now is to be there for her the way she has always been there for me. If you’re able to donate, I truly appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. I deeply believe in the power of community and people coming together during difficult times. If donating isn’t possible, simply sharing the link and spreading the word would mean just as much to me. Thank you all for your kindness, support, and prayers during this time. It means more than I can put into words, and I hope to one day pay this generosity forward when I’m in a better place.
Does anyone know if there's a keynote speaker? And if so, who?
I am renting my cap and gown from CSUN. I know I can keep my cap. What about the tassel?
