Any novel level Xianxia books?

I’m someone who primarily reads fantasy and sci-fi novels mixed with some classics. But recently I’ve had an itch to read some cultivation specifically eastern cultivation, but no offense intended, a lot of it is slop. So I was wondering if there were any recommendations I could get of novel level quality xianxia stories?

For example, I read shadow slave, which I do like, but the writing was awful. I’ve also read Tbate which for the first half was pretty bad but the second half was actually decent writing. But for shadow slave, I had to drop it because it was just so overly repetitive due to having to put out a chapter a day, the dialog was pretty bad and he used the same 100 words to describe everything.

I appreciate any suggestions thanks!

Where to buy as a first time buyer for the World Cup

Yeah there is the trusted list but I’d rather talk to real people as half the reviews on here seem like they’re paid or bots. And there has to be a decent amount of real people trying to buy these as fucked as the economy is rn.

So ik a lot of ppl say in other threads all of them are the same. So just tell me what one you like you’ve found the easiest and has good quality. Yeah they might all be the same but I really just care abt quality. So if you have a go to site please lmk and explain some so I know you’re real.

Absolute beginners guide to Byzantine?

Sorry for the third post in like a day but I feel like I learn so much more on here than on YT.

I’ve watched some YT videos and even though they say they are for beginners it’s just them playing and it’s not worth the amount of time I have to watch and rewatch and try to leans that they’re doing as they half explain. So can someone explain it in simple terms?

All of this part goes for France and Byzantine– which are the only two I’ve played.

I feel like so often I don’t really know what I should do outside of the first few minutes. After they stop explaining things it’s just over for me. I ran out of berries nearby, I have like 40 villagers and don’t know where to put them. I don’t know what contract to take or what to build or upgrade and I’m ngl I’d have to study a build guide to get any value. I need like explanation. I’m making near nonstop units, sometimes forgetting but I’ll have thousands or hundreds of materials stacking up not that far into the game.

And whenever I get units going I go to attack or harass and I just get fucked by their army. They have more units half the time or they aren’t that far from their base and their tc attacks so I can’t do anything. Then they start getting units and they just wipe me.

I know this is a ramble but I kinda just need help with anything and everything so anything will be appreciated 😭.

How do I punish death balls

I’m very new to the game and know I’m partially ass at microing and I know that being better would make me win more fights/better at fighting. But even if I was better I still don’t see how I can beat this.

Now I’ve mostly been playing custom games with my friends since we all just got the game. One of my friends plays English and just makes a ton of troops mostly archers and siege, but not for attacking building for attacking troops. And then since we take slower we end up fighting at imperial age like an hour in and he starts killing most of his villages and making an army that’s a ridiculous size. He’ll have like 30 villagers at the end and I feel like that’s rlly bad and I should be able to punish but I don’t know how.

And I’d like to learn how to counter this before I hop into online play. Thanks in advance for any advice.

How do I get better and pick a civ?

So a friend and I just got the game and have played a few custom games. And I realized I’m hot ass at the game. We’ve traded games so far and both won 2 each but still. I’ve watched some YouTube and I feel like I’m mentally slow when I go from watching to playing. I think I might just not be good at RTS games but I’m not sure if that’s or just a steep learning curve. Not to sound full of myself but I’m pretty smart and good at adjacent games like Civ 6, Stellairs, HOI4, etc.

So far I’ve only played French and I think I hate that play style. On my best game I did the build order decently and mostly on time, I was feudal a few minutes before anyone else and started harassing with knights. But my harassing feels more like being an obnoxious fly. I just do nothing or loose knights, they just make spearman and even a few + some of their buildings shooting at me gets my knights super low almost instantly. And this is against easy Ai. And the two time my friend and I have fought it was just who had the bigger army. The last game we played he killed 90% of his villagers at the end just so he could make more troops and he wiped me even though I had a lot.

So any help, advice, or civ suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

The title is pretty much the entire question. By novel standards I mean like published novels not any kind of webnovel. I read primarily fantasy and sci-fi books and personally I can just rarely enjoy webnovels due to very rougher writing, translating, or editing (or lack of).

For example Shadow Slave, while I think the plot is great and very interesting, love the lore and world, I just had to stop after around the second nightmare due to the writing. Both the writing quality itself and also the repetitive and drawn out nature that chapter release stories have. Which I do understand isn’t the authors fault but still.

So do you think RI is good enough writing wise I will enjoy it? Thanks in advance for the responses.

Scrolling through the 2-1 sale I found a decent amount of fantasy and sci-fi that I want but there’s also so much I’ve never even heard of. I’m younger, senior in high school, so can you guys put me on to the older stuff on sale?

I’ve already got some Dragon Lance books, this came at the perfect time as I was already listening to the first. I also got books 2-3 of the Black Company. And I already own the first 2 Hyperion books. Thanks in advance.

Ok I didn’t really know how to word the title without being blunt. This isn’t really about any of the sex or BDSM stuff on its own I don’t mind any of that. This is about the fact that the main character is starting as child and knowing that sex is a major theme I have some concerns.

I personally think you can write whatever in a story and as long as it’s written well it’s ok. Just because you write a cruel up world, bad things happening to characters, or just (morally) bad characters doesn’t mean you condone it– it can be written that way though. So how is it written in this series and children and sexual things written weirdly are really the only thing that will stop me from reading or watching something.

I doubt many will understand this but if any of you have watched the anime Mushoku Tensei that is what I mean. It’s a decently written series but Rudeus is an unforgivable character, who is just a pedophile. It is also clearly not written in a way where it’s just there and supposed to make you uncomfortable it’s written in a weird way imo at least.
