I purchased a Strapateer Hand strap from the company in England. Upon arrival I noticed the split ring looked like it had been pryed open like it had been opened a few times. Being that this is a new strap bought direct from the Strapateer is this acceptable? I tried pinching the split ring shut with some needle nose pliers but the ring remains open and sometimes gets stuck on the leather strap and attachment point to the camera which can be sketchy if it binds and works its way off. What are your thoughts? Should I request a refund? If I install a new split ring it’s surely needed to open up to get over the leather strap. I just don’t think the price tag justifies the quality for this level of workmanship.

In your opinion is this Henri Cartier Bresson’s Leica IIIG? There was a previous auction that advertised a black painted IIIG was likely his, but I seem to feel that this one is actually the one he used. The orange paint marks and tape job is characteristic of the M3 he used in the 1950s that was taped up.

I’ll use this acrylic paint to touch up the brassing to get back that bellissimo blacks! Any suggestions on paint brushes? I think the thinnest brush will do.

Found this Canon 7 Black Paint with its original leather case and lens at a thrift store for $120. Is that a good deal?
