Two concept art pieces that stuck with me

I absolutely adore the game and can’t help but stare at these early iterations & finished iteration of the sarcophagus.

something about the eerie nature of this alien looking object out in the middle of nowhere really keeps me on edge.

Add straight multi-cuts to faces

How would I go about adding multi-cuts to the face shown? I highlighted my desired cuts in red but haven't found a way to make it connect from the lines above to go to the bottom.
I have only been using Maya for around a week and have come from blender where loop cuts easily slide and move to where I need them to be. I have tried setting the step percentages in the multi cut tool settings to 1% and eyeballing where a straight line could be.

Please let me know if anyone can help

Beginner Advice (Substance Painter)

Hello All,

I have been in the 3D space for a better part of a year now, started with Blender, learned Embergen and Cascadeur, now diving into Substance.

A big question I had is how do you know what the order of operations is when it comes to texturing an object? I am following J Hill's Helmet Texturing tutorial and am absolutely loving the results. However, I am stumped on how the process would be if I were to texture an object myself. How would I know how many different layers a given folder would need, how much is too much? etc.

Secondarily, do most people in Substance create their 3D Model, UV Unwrap it and then Texture or solely texture already unwrapped models?

Thank you for the information, it would really help a lot!
