Finally Passed Phase 1 Again.

After 25 days, of fighting my own psychology, and today I passed Phase 1 again.

This one honestly feels different.

I was previously 0.5% away from passing, then I lost and ended up losing nearly 5% in one day, blowing another account.

Before that, I had a funded account up 4%, basically ready for a withdrawal, and I blew it because I got greedy.

After all that, my psychology was fucked.

I started overthinking everything. I'd sit there thinking about every setup I could've taken, every move I missed, whether I was going to FOMO into the next one, etc. I'd either take trades too early or be too scared to take them at all.

Today I only had 0.8% left to pass.

I waited for an A+ setup instead of forcing anything.

When it came, I took it. I was honestly scared, but at the same time I trusted the setup and executed.

And that's it. Passed.

I think the biggest thing I've learned is that I don't need to catch every move. Missing a trade isn't the end of the world. There will always be another setup.

Now it's Phase 2.

Hopefully this time I can stay disciplined and not fuck it up when I'm close again 😂

One step at a time.

Why do my MT5 XAUUSD candles suddenly look completely different from TradingView?

I’m trading XAUUSD on an FTMO MT5 account, and my candles suddenly look really weird compared to how they normally do. The wicks and candle shapes look kind of fucked up, and when I compare them to TradingView (OANDA feed), they’re noticeably different.

I know different brokers can have slightly different prices, but this isn’t just a tiny difference — some candles look completely different, especially the recent ones.

Has anyone else had this happen on FTMO MT5? Is this normal because of the FTMO price feed/liquidity providers, or could there be something wrong with my platform or server? I’m trying to figure out whether I should trust the MT5 chart or if I’m missing some setting.

Is this because of the CPI and PPI volatility, where different liquidity providers print different wicks, or could there be something wrong with my MT5 platform or server? Has anyone else noticed this on FTMO recently?

Just trying to figure out whether this is normal during major news events or if I should be concerned.

Any help would be appreciated.

Blew nearly 5% in one day after being 0.5% away from passing FTMO Phase 1

I honestly feel sick.

I was 9.5% up on FTMO Phase 1 and literally 0.5% away from passing. Then I got impatient, took a stupid trade, revenge traded after that, and ended up losing almost 5% in a single day.

Now I’m sitting at 4.6%.

I know everyone is going to say “just follow your rules,” and yeah, I know. The worst part is that I broke every rule I had. I wasn’t even trading my setup anymore — I was trying to get back to 10% as fast as possible.

For anyone who has actually recovered from a massive psychological hit like this on an FTMO challenge, how the fuck did you do it?

Did you stop trading for a few days? Reduce risk? Start treating it like a brand-new challenge? I genuinely don’t know whether to keep going or whether my psychology is completely cooked right now.

I was 0.5% away from passing, and now I need another 5.4%. Feels like I’ve thrown away the easiest pass of my life.

What % are you risking per trade on a 50k Lucid Flex account?

I’ve just started a 50k Lucid Flex account and I’m trying to dial in my risk management before I get too deep into the challenge.

For people who have actually passed a Lucid Flex account or received payouts, what percentage are you risking per trade?

I’m currently thinking 1**%–0.5% per trade**, but I’ve seen traders use anywhere from 0.2% to 1% depending on the setup.

A few questions:

  • What % do you risk per trade?
  • Do you risk the same amount on every setup?
  • How many losses in a row do you plan for?
  • Did reducing your risk help your psychology and consistency?

Would appreciate hearing from anyone with experience specifically on Lucid Flex.

18M - How do I actually improve my social skills with girls? 18M

I’m 18 and I’ve realised I want to start dating, but I feel really far behind socially.

I’ve never had a first kiss, never had a relationship, and I’ve never made it past the talking stage. I haven’t really spoken to girls properly since I was around 14.

The strange part is that I can talk to girls I’m not attracted to completely normally. I can laugh, have a conversation, and be myself. But if I’m talking to someone I actually find attractive, my brain goes completely blank.

Even over text I end up asking basic questions like “How are you?”, “What are you doing?”, and “What are your hobbies?”, and then the conversation dies because I don’t know how to keep it going. I’m worried about saying something boring or awkward, so I end up saying almost nothing.

Outside of dating I don’t think I’m generally socially anxious. I go to the gym, I’m in good shape, I make eye contact, and I’m usually fine in groups. The problem is one-on-one conversations, especially with someone I’m attracted to.

Since finishing school I barely meet new people, so I don’t get much practice talking to anyone. Most of my time goes into work, business, self-improvement, and the gym. That’s all going well, but my communication and dating skills feel years behind.

Seeing people my age who can naturally talk to women gives me a lot of FOMO because it feels like everyone else learned this earlier than I did.

For people who were in a similar position:

  • How did you improve?
  • How do you stop your mind going blank around someone you’re attracted to?
  • How do you keep conversations going without turning them into an interview?
  • Is this mainly something that gets better with exposure, or is there something specific I should work on?

I’m not in a relationship and I’m looking for advice on how to start dating and become better at talking to women.

How do I stop taking profit too early out of fear?

I genuinely need some advice from traders who’ve actually overcome this.

I keep taking profit way too early because I’m terrified of the trade reversing. I’ll be up a decent amount, see a few candles move against me, panic, and close the trade.

Then I come back literally 5 minutes later and price has run straight to my original TP without me. What could have been +3–5% ends up being +0.5–1%, and it’s happening over and over again.

It’s not that my analysis is bad — the trade often plays out exactly as planned. I’m just letting fear take me out early.

How did you train yourself to hold trades to your planned TP? Did you use partials, alerts, moving stops, journaling, or was it purely a psychological issue you had to work through?

I’m trading an FTMO evaluation, and this habit is honestly costing me more than my losing trades at this point.

FTMO am I fucked?

I've hit a wall mentally with trading and could really use some advice.

I was up 5% on my FTMO challenge/account, feeling confident, and then over the next 2 days I gave it all back.

The worst part is I know exactly what I did wrong:

  • Took trades that weren't A+ setups.
  • Let emotions take over after losses.
  • Started trying to make the money back instead of just following my plan.
  • Ignored my own rules.

This isn't a strategy issue. I can backtest profitably and spot good setups. The problem is me when real money and emotions are involved.

For those of you who got past this stage:

  • How did you stop giving profits back?
  • How did you become disciplined enough to stick to your rules after a loss?
  • What changes actually made a difference?

I'm tired of repeating the same cycle. I know I can trade, but I keep sabotaging myself once I'm in profit.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Risk management

Looking for advice from traders who have experience with funded accounts.

I'm trading a Lucid 100k Flex account with a $3,000 max overall drawdown. My priority is making money as fast as possible—it's staying funded for the long term, getting consistent payouts, and avoiding stupid mistakes.

A bit about my strategy:

  • I only take good setups.
  • Usually 1–3 trades per day.
  • I always use a stop loss.
  • I don't want to risk so little that growth becomes painfully slow, but I also don't want to be one bad week away from blowing the account.

If this were your account, what would you risk per trade?

  • 0.25% ($250)
  • 0.5% ($500)
  • 0.75% ($750)
  • 1% ($1,000)
  • Something else?

Also:

  • Do you keep the same risk after a losing streak or reduce it?
  • Do you increase risk after reaching a certain profit level?
  • How many consecutive losses do you plan for before reviewing your strategy?
  • What's the biggest mistake you've made with risk management on funded accounts?

I'm looking for answers from people who've actually been funded or have been consistently profitable. I'd appreciate hearing your reasoning rather than just a percentage.

My first 100k USD with FTMO. Confused about the 1% risk per trade / trade idea rule.

Hi everyone,

This is my first ever $100k FTMO Challenge.

Today I finished down around -$2,000 (-2%) after several XAUUSD trades.

I attached my trade history below.

I'm trying to understand FTMO's 1% maximum loss per trade idea policy because I'm worried about getting flagged if I pass the challenge.

From what I accepted, FTMO defines a "trade idea" as:

  • Cumulative exposure on the same (or correlated) symbol.
  • Any new position opened within 1 hour after closing a previous trade in the same direction counts as the same trade idea.
  • Risk is measured using the maximum adverse excursion (MAE) (realized or unrealized), not where your stop loss is placed.

My questions are:

  1. Since this is my first challenge, can I actually get flagged already, or is this only something FTMO reviews after you pass?
  2. If I pass this challenge, could they put me on the 1% max loss / 1% risk per trade idea restriction?
  3. Does that restriction apply only to that funded account, or does it carry across all future FTMO accounts/challenges?
  4. If I bought a brand-new $100k Challenge in the future, would that restriction still follow me?
  5. Looking at these trades, would FTMO likely consider them one trade idea or multiple trade ideas under their definition?

Any insight from people who've actually been put on the 1% rule would be appreciated.

Thanks.

FTMO Traders with 1% loss limit

Quick question for anyone with FTMO experience: is the 1% daily loss rule tied to just one funded account, or does it carry over across all future funded accounts under the same profile? Like if you pass and get funded again later, does your previous risk behaviour still affect you or is each account treated completely separately?

Will FTMO decline my payout?

I'm funded with FTMO and have a question about payouts.

I had two separate periods where I lost around 3–3.5% in 2 separate trade ideas, but I recovered and never violated any FTMO rules. I never exceeded the maximum daily loss or the maximum overall loss.

At one point I was up 6.9% and was planning to request a payout two days later. Unfortunately, my psychology completely fell apart. I got greedy, started revenge trading, and ended up giving back all my profits until I was around -4% overall on the account.

During those two losing days, I lost around 4.7% in a day twice and also had several trades that were over 1.5% risk each. I know this wasn't good trading, and it was purely a psychological implosion that snowballed into more bad decisions.

I'm still on the same $100,000 funded account, and I've now recovered back to roughly breakeven. My plan moving forward is to stick to my trading plan, follow my system, only take A+ setups, and stop forcing trades. I know exactly where I went wrong, and I'm focused on trading with discipline again.

My question is: Assuming I continue trading consistently, make profits, and don't break any FTMO rules, is there any reason FTMO would decline a future payout because of those two bad days?

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has had a similar experience and successfully received a payout.

New to forex 100k USD FTMO

I uploaded a post 10 days ago asking about why tp did not hit, at the time I did not know what spreads were, but now I am aware of them.

I am abit new to prop firms and I have successfully passed Phase 1 of the 100k challenge and I am now half way through Phase 2 I am up 4% in one single trade.

Trading with propfirms is 100% better than trading with a small live account.

My account went into drawdown on my first few trades on Phase 1 because I was getting to excited, but I eventually recovered 😂

Ftmo 1% Loss Rule

Hi everyone,

I’ve heard that FTMO has reduced some traders to 1% loss limit. If this has happened to you, what reason did they give?

Was it related to risk management, consistency, trading style, news trading, account performance, drawdowns, gamble trades, or something else?

Im trying to understand what factors lead FTMO to impose this restriction and whether there are any common patterns among traders who have experienced it.

Thanks for sharing your experience.
