Top 10 Favorites for the 2026 World Cup: Which Team Are You Supporting?

Hi, r/X_VPN community!

With more national team squads being announced, the 2026 FIFA World Cup is starting to feel very real.

We put together this quick visual based on the latest squad announcement status: confirmed teams show star players, while teams still waiting for their final squad remain in silhouette.

Of course, squad dates can still change, and some final picks may surprise everyone. That is part of the fun.

For a lot of fans, the next big question is also where and how to watch the matches. World Cup streaming rights can vary a lot by country, and some regions may have different broadcasters, free coverage, highlights, or language options.

That is where a VPN can be useful for football fans who travel, live abroad, or want to keep up with coverage from different regions.

Well, which team are you supporting this year? Let us know in the comments!

Spotify Premium price hikes compared across countries — Canada just jumped to C$13.99/month

I made an infographic comparing recent Spotify Premium price hikes across several major markets, using Premium Individual monthly pricing where available.

A few things stood out:

  • India had the biggest percentage increase in this sample: ₹119 → ₹139 / +16.8%
  • Australia followed with A$13.99 → A$15.99 / +14.3%
  • Canada just moved from C$12.69 → C$13.99 / +10.2%
  • Japan also landed around +10.2%
  • France, Brazil, the U.S., and the U.K. were all below 10% in this comparison

What I found interesting is how differently “expensive” looks depending on the lens. In local currency, some increases feel small. In percentage terms, the ranking changes. And after rough USD conversion, markets like India and Brazil still look relatively lower-priced compared with North America or Western Europe.

VPN users often notice how digital services, pricing, features, and availability vary across regions. Streaming subscriptions are a clear example of how the internet can feel global, while pricing is still very local.

Curious what people think: is Spotify still worth the monthly price in your country, or are you switching to Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, local files, or something else?

Where TikTok Is Banned or Restricted in 2026

Hi r/X_VPN community!

TikTok is everywhere… well, almost everywhere.

Dance trends? TikTok.

Breaking news? TikTok.

Cooking hacks? TikTok.

We’ve all been there: "I’ll just scroll for five minutes," and suddenly an hour has vanished.

But did you know that depending on where you are, TikTok can be treated very differently?

While checking regional differences with X-VPN, we looked into how TikTok access and restrictions vary around the world. It turns out a “TikTok ban” can mean very different things in different places, so we grouped them into three broad categories:

🔴 Fully banned / unavailable for regular users

>TikTok is generally blocked, banned, or not normally available to everyday users.

India, Afghanistan, Iran, North Korea, Mainland China, Uzbekistan, Senegal, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan

🟠 Partially, temporarily, or specially restricted

>TikTok is not fully banned, but access, features, content, or platform operations may be limited.

Gabon, Indonesia, Russia, Vietnam, New Caledonia

🟡 Banned only on government devices

>TikTok is generally available to the public, but restricted on government or official work devices.

United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, France, Belgium, Austria, Denmark, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Ireland, Netherlands, Malta, Taiwan region

Of course, TikTok-related policies can change quickly. This list is based on publicly available reports and policy summaries as of May 2026, so it should be treated as a snapshot rather than a permanent map.

Well, do you use TikTok daily, or have you moved on? Is TikTok banned, restricted, or totally normal in your country? What do you think these bans are really about? Privacy, politics, national security, or something else?

UFO Files Are Out. Don’t Let Curiosity Expose Your Privacy

UFO FILES are out!! You’ve probably seen the news: Trump has released the first batch of UFO / UAP files. And of course, the internet is absolutely losing it.

Aliens? Secret military tech? Government cover-ups? Weird glowing orbs?

Everyone wants a peek. We totally get it, and we’re just as curious as you are🤣

Hot topics are perfect bait

But here’s the thing: whenever a story like this goes viral, it’s the perfect opportunity for scammers to put out fake or suspicious links.

Over the next few days, people are going to be frantically searching for things like:

  • "UFO file download"
  • "Alien document leak"
  • "Trump UFO files"
  • "Secret UAP footage"
  • "Real UFO video"

One search quickly turns into five open tabs. Those tabs lead to Reddit threads, YouTube videos, archive links, PDF downloads, and random websites claiming to have "the files they don't want you to see."

That’s where things get risky. Some common risks include:

  • Fake mirror sites pretending to host the “real” UFO files
  • Phishing pages asking you to log in or enter personal information
  • Malware downloads hidden in ZIP files, EXE files, or fake PDFs
  • Shady “exclusive leak” links designed to make you click fast
  • Trackers and cookies collecting what you search and read
  • Browser fingerprinting from random websites you visit
  • ISP visibility, meaning your internet provider may still see the domains you access
  • Data brokers turning your curiosity into another interest profile

How to protect yourself

If you’re planning to dig into the UFO files, here are a few simple privacy and safety tips:

  • Start with official sources, not random reposted links.
  • Be careful with ZIP files, EXE files, “enhanced videos,” or anything that asks you to install software.
  • Use a browser with tracker blocking.
  • Keep your device security software updated before downloading documents.
  • Use a VPN if you don’t want your ISP easily seeing every rabbit hole you visit.
  • Be skeptical of any site claiming it has “the real files they don’t want you to see.” That line is basically bait.

The UFO files may be public now, but that doesn’t mean your access to them is private. Keep your online safety in mind while you're searching for the truth!

So, have you checked out the files yet? Do you think the truth is finally out there, or is it just more mystery? Let us know what you think in the comments!

One question we often see from VPN users is: “Should I keep my VPN on all the time, or only turn it on when I need it?”

The honest answer is: it depends on your situation. But for most everyday use, keeping it on is usually a good idea.

A VPN is most useful when it’s running before you need it. For example, if you connect to public Wi-Fi at a café, airport, hotel, school, or coworking space, having your VPN already on can help protect your traffic from being exposed on that network.

Keeping your VPN on can also help reduce IP-based tracking, limit what your ISP can see about your browsing activity, and give you a more consistent privacy setup across different networks.

That said, there are times when you may want to turn it off temporarily. Some banking apps, payment pages, streaming services, or local devices like printers and casting tools may not work properly while connected to a VPN. You may also see more CAPTCHAs on some websites.

Speed is another thing people ask about. A VPN can slightly affect your connection because your traffic is encrypted and routed through a VPN server. But in most daily situations, the impact should be manageable, especially if you choose a nearby server or use a faster protocol.

Our general suggestion:

  • Public Wi-Fi: keep your VPN on
  • Traveling: keep your VPN on
  • Remote work: keep your VPN on, especially on unfamiliar networks
  • At home: depends on your privacy needs
  • If something doesn’t load: try switching servers before turning VPN off completely

So, should you keep your VPN on all the time?

For most users, YES — unless it causes a specific issue with an app, website, or device.

What about you? Do you keep your VPN on 24/7, or do you only turn it on when needed?

Hi r/X_VPN community!

Many people still think the U.S. Netflix library is the biggest in the world. It used to be. But not anymore.

As Disney+, Max, Peacock, and other platforms take back more licensed content, Netflix U.S. has become more focused on originals. Today, over 62% of its library is first-party content.

Meanwhile, countries like the UK and Slovakia have ranked among the biggest Netflix libraries in recent reports, with thousands of movies and shows that may not be available in the U.S.

So we made this infographic to show the top 10 Netflix libraries around the world.

And one fun thing about Netflix: your library depends a lot on where you watch from. Because of regional licensing and distribution rules, Netflix catalogs can look very different from country to country.

With X-VPN, you can change your virtual location and explore what may be available in other regions. That could mean more movies, more shows, anime, K-dramas, or titles you cannot find in your local catalog.

Well, which Netflix library do you use the most? Or have you stopped using Netflix already? Tell us in the comments!

Hi r/X_VPN community,

Age verification on social media is moving fast around the world.

We’ve been tracking the latest updates through the end of April 2026, and the trend is clear: compared to March, many more countries have moved into the "in-progress" stage, especially across Europe and Asia.

Some countries are pushing stricter rules for users under 16, while others are rolling out mandatory ID checks. Either way, the writing is on the wall: more regulation is coming.

What’s happening in your country? Have you seen any age checks or new rules on social media lately? Let us know in the comments🙌

We’re not even halfway through the year, and a lot of popular subscription services have already quietly hiked their prices.

So, I put together this chart to compare some of the recent price increases here in the U.S. Some of these hikes might seem small on their own, but when you add them all up... yeah, is your wallet feeling okay?

Here are a few examples:

  • YouTube Premium (Family Plan): +$4
  • Netflix: Most plans are up by $2
  • Prime Video (Ad-free): Price nearly doubled
  • Spotify: Another price hike since 2024

Of course, this is just the situation in the US. Prices vary a lot by region because many services use regional pricing.

For example, we used X-VPN to check the price of Spotify Premium in Nigeria. It’s about ₦1,600/month (around $1.19). Compared to the $12.99/month we pay in the U.S., that is only about 9% of the U.S. price.

Did I miss any other price hikes? Which one has annoyed you the most this year?
