[Mod Concept / Free Idea] Highly Advanced Steering, Shifter & Kinetic Controls for Create (Take full credit!)

Hey everyone,

I have a highly detailed concept for a realistic vehicle/driving control addon for the Create Mod (targeting 1.21.1/NeoForge). Just a quick heads-up: **the original idea wasn’t in English and was honestly a bit sketchy and chaotic, so I ran it through an AI to polish it up** into clear, structured technical specs so you guys can actually read it.

I don't have the time or coding skills to develop this myself, so **I am giving this complete concept away to the community for free.** If you are a mod developer and want to make this, please go ahead! You can take 100% full credit for the mod, the code, the name, and the release. No need to credit me at all—I just really want to see this exist in the game!

Here is the full breakdown of how the mechanics should work:

1. General Input & Custom Cursor System

* **Special Binding Menu:** A dedicated, custom GUI screen featuring a 3-column binding menu (similar to Advanced Peripherals or the Controllable mod style). It allows mapping up to 3 different buttons/controls (Keyboard keys or Controller inputs) to a single action.

* **Custom Cursor:** When hovering over a "grabbable" UI element (steering wheel, shifter lever), the mouse cursor changes to an "open hand". When dragging/grabbing, it changes to a "closed hand" until released, even if the mouse leaves the grabbable area. Only one element can be grabbed at a time.

* **Strictly Local:** Every single block instance has strictly local settings and upgrades. Changing one block never affects another instance of the same block.

2. The Steering Wheel Block

* **Visuals & Interaction:** A block displaying a 3D steering wheel. Right-clicking it with a wrench opens its GUI, but a normal right-click puts a steering wheel overlay on the bottom-left corner of your screen. Pressing A/D rotates it.

* **Visual Synced Rotation:** The wheel's rotation must render visually on the block for all players (Synced Block Entity Renderer), not just client-side.

* **RPM Gauge:** If a Gearbox is paired, a visual analog gauge/clock appears on the physical block showing the current RPM (Min 0 / Max 256 configurable via the Create config menu).

* **Customization:** Clicking the block with different steering wheel items swaps its model visually from the outside and inside the GUI.

* **Analog Support:** Full controller/analog support (e.g., Xbox Controller left joystick X-axis, pedals) with proper phase/axis detection. Pushing the joystick halfway turns the steering wheel halfway.

* **Settings:** Features a "Link Name" text field in the wrench GUI to name this steering wheel network.

3. Ignition Key Upgrade (Slot in Steering Wheel GUI)

* **Visuals:** When installed, an empty 3D keyhole appears on the physical block and in the GUI. Clicking with a Key item inserts it.

* **Mechanics:** Turning the key through 3 phases toggles redstone and kinetic power. Fully turned, it outputs max redstone and actual rotation power (default 20 RPM / 256 SU, configurable) from the back of the block.

* **Behavior:** Releasing it snaps it halfway back (Kinetic power stops, but Redstone signal stays ON). Turning it back to state 1 turns everything OFF. If you close the GUI while the key is turned, it automatically returns to your inventory and disappears from the block.

4. Standard Gearbox (Not to be confused with the 3-Way Gearbox)

* **Pairing:** Must be clicked with a Steering Wheel item before placing the wheel to pair them.

* **Wrench Interaction (Value Settings):** When you right-click the block with a Wrench, it should open a Create-style in-world "Value Settings" UI overlay (exactly like the Mechanical Bearing mode selection or Deployer option toggle). Here, the player toggles between two primary modes: "Multiple Rotation" or "Set RPM".

* **Normal GUI:** When opened normally without a wrench, it displays the main configuration screen. It lets you set the exact RPM/multiplier for each gear (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, R) using dual sliders (exactly like the Creative Motor layout). If "Multiple Rotation" was selected via the wrench overlay, the sliders expand the range from a -8x to 8x multiplier.

* **Shifter UI & Grab Mechanic:** When paired, it adds a Shifter UI to the bottom-right of the screen, styled as 3 vertical black lines with a grey outline, connected by a horizontal line. Controls map to arrow keys, the controller's right joystick, plus a mandatory "Grab" button (default Left Click). You have to manually grab and drag the shifter lever, and it snaps into gears (1-5, R) based on thresholds.

5. 3-Way Gearbox

* **Mechanics:** Top view: input is at the back, Channel 1 output is on the sides (running in the same direction), and Channel 2 output is at the front.

* **Control:** Driven by a "3-Way Switch" upgrade slot in the steering wheel. Position 1 routes power to Channel 1, Position 2 to Channel 2, and Position 3 to both channels.

* **Advanced Settings:** Pressing Shift + Right Click with a Wrench opens an advanced configuration menu.

* **Standard Wrench Interaction:** 1st click on a side inverts rotation on that side. 2nd click shifts that side to the next channel (resets to default direction). 3rd click inverts direction on the new channel. 4th click cycles back to Channel 1.

* **Plate Cover:** A "Plate Cover" item can be clicked onto active sides to disable/hide rotation on that side (making it look like a default block top) while saving its channel/direction data. Wrenching it removes the cover and restores the saved state. Visual arrows on the sides render like "Create Connected" textures (Light Green for Channel 1, Light Blue for Channel 2).

* **Gearbox Upgrade:** Inserting a Gearbox Upgrade item into the 3-Way Gearbox forces the Steering Wheel block to recognize it as a standard gearbox, combining both custom GUIs.

6. Named Links

* **Function:** Wireless redstone nodes (values 0-15). If set to "Receiver Mode", it listens to the Steering Wheel network with the same name. If not in receiver mode, it transmits its input redstone signal to other "Named Link" blocks sharing the exact same name.

I think this would be an absolute dream addon for anyone making custom cars, trains, or heavy machinery using the Create Mod.

If any modder out there wants to steal this complete concept, modify it, or start coding it right away for NeoForge 1.21.1—please go ahead. You have my full blessing to take 100% of the credit!

Let me know what you guys think of these mechanics!

And this is my idea, it had just reprompted with ai to understand it better
