What’s the best frozen food to have around for when you’re inebriated?

Something that scratches the itch of eating out, or something you crave while being too drunk to make it yourself. I don’t care about health or price, I want something that stops me from perusing Uber Eats when I can’t afford it.

How to manage taking kratom for a short period (to help me move) responsibly?

Hi y’all, 30F here. I have ADHD and chronic pain and am in a nose-to-the-grindstone type situation right now where I’m moving out of a rough environment. I’m generally sober and don’t want to take any prescription medication again, I had leftover kratom from when I was in college and it’s basically just given me the boost I need to actually get stuff done and replace any other stimulants I may have used in the past.

Was basically just wondering if you have any advice for utilizing it to the best of my abilities right now without getting tolerant or burnt out on it. I’ve been taking it a couple times a week and on the off days I feel pretty lethargic, but without it, I had no motivation and was falling into some bad depression.

I want to keep my body as healthy as possible, and only take it for a short time period. I seriously don’t care about euphoria etc. I just need to get this stuff done and can’t really handle other substances.

I (31F) am struggling to move back out of my dad’s house and it’s because of the hoarding.

I am open to whatever anyone has to say to me at this point because I’m really not dealing with this properly, although I don’t exactly know how I’m supposed to be dealing with it.

I moved back into my dad’s house after a breakup to get on my feet again. I realize now this was a mistake. When I first moved back in, my old room was completely filled with boxes of junk and used as storage for random crap, with only a mattress on the floor for me to sleep on. I seriously just cried on that mattress for a week because I was so disgusted with my environment.

The entire time I was gone, my dad would blow up my phone trying to get me to visit on the weekends (when I was a full-time student living hours away) to “clean my room” because he was going to “turn it into a gym/office/whatever”. Blaming me for the mess, basically, when a normal parent would just throw away or reorganize stuff that belonged to me.

The house was in pristine condition when he bought it but he’s piled it full of crap he doesn’t have space for and it is now in a state of actual disrepair with holes in the walls, black mold in the bathrooms, carpet torn up, it’s genuinely unhealthy and unsanitary. When I try to have conversations with him about it, he turns it around and blames it on me.

I spent a lot of time when I moved back trying to clean it to make it less depressing, but he’d just make it dirty again at every turn. And it was thankless work.

Now that I’m in a position to move back out, I just feel like I’m somehow absorbed into his hoard, and having a really hard time staying motivated and energized to leave. I swear I just feel insanely depressed and unsettled here, then when I leave to visit friends etc. I suddenly feel like “oh my god, it’s the environment, why the fuck am I still there.” It’s hard for me to really collect myself enough to focus on applying for apartments and pack.

Also, my dad keeps, again, blaming me for the mess somehow, and I really just want to leave with one suitcase. I know if he was healthy and the house was safe and clean, I would just wake up, make coffee, get my stuff done, I just feel so mentally drained and unfocused. And like I’m not sleeping well and the air quality is poor.

Just wanting advice from anyone who has been in the same situation, I seriously feel like I’m going crazy. It pulls me down so much.

How to tactfully navigate a friend only talking about her toxic relationship when we hang out 1-on-1?

I grew closer to one of the women out of a mixed gender-and-relationship-status group of friends that were originally work colleagues (most of us have changed paths since then). We are all roughly 30 and when we hang out as a group we mesh well together. We have common interests in music, hobbies, and taste in media etc. I was really happy when she reached out asking to hang out individually.

HOWEVER. Once we started hanging out 1-on-1… All she talks to me about when it’s just the two of us is her toxic relationship. She lives with a man she’s been dating for 3 years who has been unemployed for almost a year and has a porn addiction. She pays all of the bills while he sits at home playing video games and buying camgirl sessions.

She acts like everything is fine when she’s in a group, but wow, I took her out to a lake day earlier this week and the entire day trip (no exaggeration) was her talking about how much he sucks. She literally made a plan with me to break up with him. Okay… Exhausting to be around, but happy she’s getting out.

Next day she texts me, they had a therapy session and she’s “feeling better” about all of it. So I just endured all of that and basically acted as her life coach/therapist for no reason.

I am a happily single woman. I am friends with people who are in happy, healthy relationships that can hang out and talk about other things. I am now in an awkward position because we typically hang out in a big group once a week. I don’t want petty drama or to make things awkward. But I really don’t want to continue to hang out with her 1-on-1. It’s not fun for me. And of course other people in the group wouldn’t know the difference, and told her I’m free this weekend so she texted me just now asking to hang.

I feel awkward. Has anyone been in a similar position before? I think it also bugs me because, like, I feel like she’s just saying all of this stuff to me because I’m another woman. “Girl time” doesn’t equal “talk about men for 8 hours straight” to me. Ugh…

Games that are fun for me to watch and backseat play while my friend streams them on discord?

I don’t have a gaming setup and my friend has the whole rig, so looking for games where even though I’m just watching it’s fun and I can feel included. I’m thinking mystery games would be good for this, something where choices matter. Thanks y’all

I have a dear friend (35F) that I’ve known for over 10 years now. She has helped me through ups and downs and we’ve traveled together extensively. She has always been there for me. However…

She dated a much younger man 3 years ago for about a year. Young enough that she actually lost most of our shared work friends over it. (He was 10 years younger, for context.)

He broke up with her after about a year and she went full-tilt crazy. She was extremely depressed and suicidal, quit her job, and obsessively stalked him on social media. He quickly moved on and dated someone else. He blocked her due to her constantly messaging and trying to call him. I would constantly discourage her from checking up on him or talking to him and tell her she was being crazy. I greatly feared for her mental health at this point, as she lives alone. I was uncomfortable with the situation this entire time, but if I stopped being friends with her, she would literally have no one left.

That was 2 years ago. I felt that she came out of it, and ended up getting another job and going back to school. However, recently she let it slip that she still stalks him (and his new girlfriend) on social media. And she’s back to saying weird stuff about him, basically just bringing him up as some “lost love” of hers and acting like they still have a chance together or something.

We’ve had tickets together to go see a popular musician, she bought them for us and asked me to go with her. It’s a whole trip we’ve planned out. I found out it’s his favorite artist. Honestly that just creeped me out and soured it for me. I feel like she’s hoping he’ll be there or something.

I honestly am just really uncomfortable and put off with the whole situation. I thought she was over him and maybe I regret continuing to talk to her when they dated and everyone else cut her off, but we were living in different parts of the country at the time and I knew she had nobody else to talk to and was struggling. Everything else about our hanging out and friendship is normal, but then I just find out these details that are really unsettling. I mean, it’s been 2 years.

Has anyone dealt with a friend basically being obsessed and crazy over their ex before?

Rover sucks. It’s not my fault but I get “requests” from people who aren’t serious and now I have a ridiculously low acceptance rate and I’m like #20 or something on the list in my area when I look myself up.

My last several requests have been old people who don’t know how to use the app, people who don’t respond after the initial message, people who come back and tell me they don’t need me because they decided to bring their dogs with them on their trip, etc. I haven’t gotten one normal request since the holidays. Am I the only one dealing with this?

When I first opened my account again I was getting legitimate requests and I’m being punished for archiving for legitimate reasons outside of my control. I really hate Rover at this point, it’s such a bummer.
