Color Splash reimagining: Prologue and Red Chapter

I enjoy Color Splash. It's not as bad as Sticker Star, but I can admit there are issues that lingered from that game into Color Splash. So, I'm reimagining the game as if it fell in line with TTYD, fixing gameplay and changing different story elements with new characters.

The game starts similarly but with some changes. The docks of Port Prisma are bigger and lacks the Wringer and Know-it-all Toad. In the town center is the Prisma Fountain that's opened about the same. Huey's role is the same, gives you paint and is your helpful guide. But this time, he now has the ability of Tippi from SPM, able to tattle enemies as an action for Mario. Paint is now used for fixing colorless spots in the overworld since badges are used in place of Battle Cards. Port Prisma itself now has three different exits. The yellow district leads to Yellow Foothills, a mountainous area with forests and arid valleys. The blue district leads to Blue Beach, a coastal area with harbors and a high class park. And the central red district leads to Red Ridge, a rugged volcanic area with grasslands and ruins. The Big Paint Stars are how you enter the chapters like in the game now, only with changes to what needs to be restored in some cases.

With Red Ridge the only accessable area, Mario ventures forth. Part way through, he reaches a large gate with three stones missing. He'll need to find the Stones of the Volcano, Ocean and Mountain to open it. The Stone of the Mountain is on top of Daffodil Peak. Here, Mario meets Sprinklit, a Sniffit who can shoot water balloons capable of extinguishing flames, which is important when wildfires pop up due to volcanic runoff. He joins Mario to Redpepper Volcano, where he is able to put out flames to make it to the shrine with the Stone of the Volcano. Finally, they journey to the beach for the Stone of the Ocean hidden in a temple needing water to open doors. With all three, Mario can now open the gate to Crimson Tower.

In the tower, Mario climbs to the top to fight Morton. I wanted to change the Koopalings to make them less bland. So instead of just guarding the Big Paint Stars, they've been brainwashed and are acting stranger by their respective paint color. In Morton's case, he takes on the appearance of a knight. His helmet and armor look like flames and his hammer can light aflame at will. His personality changed alongside his appearance. Instead of being dumber than a sack of bricks, he speaks like a noble knight who wishes to conquer all of Red Ridge and Prisma Island. In his fight, he periodically ignites his hammer and armor to boost his damage and hurt you when you try attacking him. Sprinklit is capable of extinguishing the fire with his Hydro Bomb attack.

Upon beating Morton, the paint fades off him and he's back to his old self with no memory of being controlled by the Big Paint Star. You collect the Red Paint Star and return home, coloring in a gate in the Yellow Foothills as you go. This is where you get a flashback of Port Prisma being attacked and color drained while a shadowy figure with glowing yellow eyes watches.

Feedback on this rewrite project is more than welcome so it can be the best it can possibly be

Other uses of real world songs in PR

I was just thinking about this, have there been many uses of real world songs in PR? I know during the Jungle Masters tests in Jungle Fury, Theo sings This Little Light, but have there been many others in seasons I haven't watched yet?

[Gen 9] Only one from two different sandwiches

And I didn't make any Ice or Fighting sandwiches. This was a random one I saw out of the corner of my eye

My hopes for Persona 4 Revival

Persona 4 Revival is a highly anticipated game. I'm starting my second real playthrough of P4G in anticipation. I figured I would share my hopes for the game.

  1. A deadline tracker is added. I may be beating a dead horse here with this, but I still feel like this would be a great quality of life feature. It would be a great addition not only for new players, but also people like me who don't have the deadlines memorized.

  2. New dialogue portraits. I know the Yosuke trailer showcased a new portrait during the camping scene and I hope there are more like that. I know during the cutscene for failing to save Yukiko has Chie using a more neutral portrait while the text is talking about finding Yukiko's body. I'd love to see a new crying or sad portrait for cutscenes like that.

  3. More animations and smaller details. I would love to see not only finer details, like the Investigation Team getting into a prepared stance when selecting what skill to use, like how S.E.E.S would hold their Evokers in 3 Reload. But also more animations. If that moment on December 3rd has a prerendered cutscene, I guarentee the tears will be GUSHING out of people's eyes. Another smaller thing is that during the Accomplise ending, when the S. Link is maxed out, I seriously hope the happy "max link" music doesn't play. I know it's something for all links, but it feels inappropriate given what you just did before that moment.

  4. The protag has different Series Finales. That part of the overview went by quickly, so it's unclear if just Izanagi will be featured for his Series Finale or not. I found it cool that more Theurgies were unlocked for the protag in Reload as you fused certain Personas. And it would be awesome if the party members got new Series Finales after finishing their links and evolving their Personas.

This is just my list and I'd love to hear people's thoughts on it

My theory about Persona 6's theme

I've seen theories about the theme of Persona 6 solely based on the reveal trailer. I figured I'd throw my own hat into the ring.

Each game has varied themes. 3 is about facing your own death, 4 is about seeking the truth and 5 is about finding justice in an unjust world. I think based on the trailer, the theme is fears and dreams. Let me explain. Firstly the theories about death of the self have been stated given that it shows graves, but what if there's more to it. Graves mean death, sure, but it could also mean a fear of death or a fear of the undead. The overall trailer has an eerie vibe to it, but that doesn't necessarlily mean death of the self could be the theme. The graves could symbolize the masses giving into their fears and abandoning their dead and forgotten dreams.

So if the theme is fears and dreams, what could the story potentially be about? I think it would be helping people wake from a nightmare sleep before they die from their own fears taking over. This is all my own personal theory, but I would lvoe to hear other people's thoughts

[Gen 9] Paldea has oceans, rivers and lakes teeming with Water types. How did I manage to get just these two in a single sandwich?

My grind for the Shiny Charm had better be worth it tbh

Power Rangers at Disney

Does anyone have any memories of when the Rangers appeared at Hollywood Studios? I missed out on seeing those and would love to hear about it since it's not super well documented

[Gen 9] Did my first sandwich hunt in Violet. Wish it went better though

I possibly ran by a bunch. I wish this game had some kind of indicator like in the Legends games. Maybe a sparkling aura or something

So I figure before talking about systems like crafting and such in my Zelda MMO concept, I should talk about what a general game flow is like and how you interact with other players. To start, as you gain ranks, more areas become available. You can walk to them, but you can also use a Purah Pad to warp to camps to start exploration. Each area is different from each other and is divided based on the TotK map. Stables are about the same being a place to cook meals or buy items. Villages/settlements have a lot more, usually containing the region's mini story. Unlike stables, these places have blacksmiths and armorers. I had an idea that the blacksmiths of the four major settlements (Zora's Domain, Gerudo Town, Goron City and Rito Village) would offer a discound when crafting or repairing their respective weapons, but figured it could be redundant.

For exploration, there are 4 kinds of teamwork focused challenges. The first is Monster Den, which is either a monster camp raid or a battle against an overworld boss like a Hinox or Stone Talus, all with new variants. The next is Strange Cave, which usually have bosses from older Zelda games, like Helmasaur King, Bongo-Bongo or Coloktos. They also may contain mini remixed dungeons from older games that encourage cooperation. Third is Sky Island, which are navigation challeneges through a small chain of islands, rewarding Zonai objects for craftingwhen completed. Finally is Depths, which have the more collaborative missions such as beating a certain amount of Gloom infused enemies or surviving a certain amount of time. These reward Poes, which can be traded at Barginer Statues for rare and powerful rewards. These all reset locations and what's inside at 00:00 UTC so it doesn't end up becoming barren.

Each of these can be completed alone or with up to three other players, except for Depths challenges which requires at least two players. When successfully completing a challenge, you get rewards such as crafting materials or cooking ingredients. These scale depending on player count. But with that comes more challenge having boss health and enemy count also scale with player count. I have this in place since in a lot of MMOs I play, max level players can come in and barrel through any challenge, which is great for new players, but has a double edged sword of removing the excitement and challenge of a fight. This allows for players of all skill sets to take on a challenge. As for communicating with others, if you're playing with friends you know, Gamechat is an option, but for those who are playing with strangers, command emotes like in Triforce Heroes are used.

Finally, PvP is a big part of player interaction. This takes place on a newly settled Great Sky Island (mainly for the big arena that a Flux Construct is usually fought on). Here you can do PvP battles and get rewards. And the rewards are great, having really rare materials for sale for players able to rise the ranks. Like with exploration, these can be taken on solo or with up to 3 other players for team battles.

This is the second part of my concept, so feedback is greatly appreciated. This is something I wanted to do for fun since Nintendo probably won't do something like this
