Anyone else seeing an uptick in gpu driver issues?

I've 2 computers to repair from customers in just the past week alone that seem to be correlated. Both machines had windows 10, and both were only fixed by either safe boot driver reinstall OR a total windows reinstall to windows 11.

In both cases, the gpu was failing to operate and the system would not recognize it whatsoever.

They threw you away like garbage, and I collected you like treasure

Our road is sadly notorious for having people dump their animals on it. In this case, we heard frantic meowing in the woods by our house and saw her. She was about half this size, full of ticks and scared. She's obviously been around humans before, as she came right to us and wanted to be held. Im not sure who threw this precious baby away, but thank god the cat distribution system saved her.

We named her "Crybaby" because of how we first met, and how she demands everything loudly and immediately.

If rabies is 100% fatal, how can populations in Peru have natural antibodies?

Its been shown that nearly 11% of people living in the Peruvian jungle have antibodies towards rabies, indicating that their bodies cleared a peripheral infection before it got to the brain. However, medical research often tells us that without PEP, we will most certainly succumb to it. How can both of these studies co exist?

My only guess is that perhaps the people in Peru are being subjected to a weaker strain, but i am by no means an expert.

Did the demand for body cams backfire for the general population?

My stepdad was a grizzled retired chief of police (he passed away in 2015), and spoke about the glory days of "real policing".

And while he did explicitly mention he loved when wife beaters and other heinous criminals "tripped" on the way to the car, he also expressed reluctance in how it changed policing into something more robotic; no longer could an officer simply overlook things that could be overlooked. Little bit of weed? Instead of charges, they make you stomp on it and go about their way. Booze in the car with no drunk driver? Pour it out, warning given. Town drunk causing problems? Handled behind closed doors. Things like that.

And that's not to say that those things didn't come with their own issues of course, but I can't help but to feel that bodycams also work both ways. Yes they make LE more accountable and even protect them against complaints, but it also creates a mandatory need for enforcement (to also protect the officer) vs real "policing" in a genuine, this-is-my-town way. Often times, it really does seem their hand is forced because it IS being audio and video recorded.

Thoughts?

Anyone tired of an OCD diagnosis making hospitals think youre just crazy?

I've been diagnosed with OCD since I was 12 (im 30 now), and I absolutely hate telling medical staff that I have it because it becomes a game of me being crazy vs the problem at hand.

For context, I visited the er the other night because while I was standing outside with literal bats flying around above me, I felt a sting on my leg that I couldn't identify. Under recommendation from the HEALTH DEPARTMENT, I went to the ER. They looked me over very well, listened to the context of the story and concluded that it was most assuredly not a bat that bit me. No post exposure shots needed. Then sent me on my way.

However, upon receiving my discharge papers, I walked to my car and noticed that they included a large list of anxiety self help and resources. Wtf? In addition, my own psychiatrist office called me today because they get ER alerts when their patients visit. My official reason is coded as "anxiety", when in reality there was a valid concern for rabies exposure.

So, to medical professionals, I guess everything must be in my head or somehow not real. Sigh. But, at the end of the day, im just glad im okay. I really do wish we were treated with the same seriousness as non OCD/ANXIETY patients.

Medically cleared but unsatisfied

usa

Possible exposure 6/22/26

Type of exposure: unknown

Possibly a bat

I am not vaccinated

I have read the FAQ.

Today I was delivering groceries to a home at dusk. I saw a weird number of bats flying around their yard, so I hurried and placed their water on the porch. As I was taking a confirmation posture, I felt a small sting on the back of my calf (im wearing shorts). I immediately look and saw nothing. No other sensations.

I went to the ER to have them look. They combed through my leg hair for nearly 7 minutes using a light, and concluded they saw no evidence of broken skin and therefore they do not recommend PEP.

However, what has me wondering is the fact that many bites and scratches are often invisible and that the CDC doesn't recommend solely relying on visual exams for PEP decision. Nearly 30-35% of people who die from bat Bourne rabies do not remember a wound or even an encounter.

The real question is; do i go back and demand the PEP on my own dime? Or do i trust the physician assistant who looked at it and got clearance from the doctor?

Adopted stray kitten runs off and eats?

Adopted this little fella recently. Im assuming it was "dropped" because of how friendly it is towards humans. Also came stock trained for the litter box and hard food. Basically it was crying out in the woods near my house at night with no mom or litter mates in sight. After a good brush and tick removal, she's doing great.

However, I notice they do something odd... the kitten always wants to be in your face for some reason. And when you gently push them away so many times, they suddenly run off, eats a few bits of food, then comes back with new ambition. It reminds me of punch the monkey getting upset and running off to get his stuffed animal. Any idea why they might be doing this or what it means?

I'm kinda concerned they're gonna give me the boot after the past few days.

Before that, I was calling support MAYBE once a week, typically for manual delivery or a lost scan label.

The past three days, I've had to call a whopping EIGHT times for them to give me the manual code for a lost label. This all stems from both walmarts near me, where I will scan the barcodes on the cases and start helping them load. I work on two, while they work on one. They tell me they threw a sticker in and, lo and behold, it's the wrong one or they flat out didn't do it.

I'm totally aware this is partially my fault for not double checking. Support says it doesn't count against me but I do not trust them. Thoughts?
