I wanna do an exchange, but I’m nervous… please share your experiences

(anerican) I want to do an exchange so I can experience a whole different culture and make more friends and even learn a new language, and a totally different environment. But I can only afford exchanges that are a 10 months.

I’m mostly concerned about making friends and, I’m also worried about missing holidays. we travel during the holidays so I usually enjoy my life quite I bit then.

I’m not sure why I’m nervous. I don’t really have a good relationship with my parents I always feel bored , and my mom has a lot of dogs so the house stays pretty dirty and I have to share a room. I’m very independent too.

My mind keeps changing from 100% wanting to do it to being a bit unsure, but deeply I know that I need to just sign up. if anyone has experiences from their exchange, please tell me what country you to and how you liked it.!

How can I convince my parents to let me do an exchange

I want to do an exchange in 11th grade, but my parent is very on the edge about it. I’m not sure why I think she thinks I won’t like it. She’s talking about having to go live with strangers and stuff, even though thats the point. And she thinks I’ll hate school, bc I’m homeschool. pls help

Exchange in Central Europe vs Scandinavia

hi! I’m interested in a rotary exchange next year. I’m so unsure on where to go and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice.

im interested in Switzerland and Czech Republic, but also leaning towards sweden or Denmark (Finland is also notable!)

Has anyone done exchanges here? Or gone to hs in these places?

im mostly concerned about workload and making friends.

Pigs are cleaner, better pets than dogs… yet….

the average dog nutter would be disgusted the idea of a pig living in their house.

-pigs don’t eat their own shit

-don’t slobber and jump on you

-don’t bark

-less likely to maul u (even if they do it’s easily survivable)

- don’t kill other ppls animals

- won’t step in their shit

-easier to train

-attract less ticks

I don’t support owning inside pigs, but I would rather own one than a dog.

I don’t like when people rehome old dogs

IMO: put the dog down. chances are 1% it will go to another home, 99% it will end up in the shelter for my nutter mother to pick up and hoard.

Euthanasia is the best option. I also think this way about young dogs.

What is your favorite app that can be used for quick practice (ex. While waiting for your Starbucks order)

hey!

im starting to learn German at home. I’m mostly using anki and a website I forgot the name of (follows a story of a expat) but those are on my computer and I would like to find a good mobile app to use, that has quick little lessons.

danke!

I hate how people only call people “ready for pointe” when they have high arches

I see a lot of beginner pointe dancers and if they have low arches with a slight difficulty of getting over the box, but are stable, it’s all hate comments.
then there’s someone who’d shaky AF but they have great arches and is all “I love seeing people actually ready for pointe!

makes me mad they know nothing abt dance

Any good creamers? (Not too sweet)

I enjoy the brown sugar one (honestly forget the title; it’s very sweet I just don’t add a lot) and want some recommendation!
