Limitations of the Help to Buy scheme

Hi everyone, I am trying to find out if the 2% deposit Help to Buy scheme has limits on using it like 5% deposit fund. Specifically, I can't find anything regarding how "often" you can use it - I want to purchase a cheaper apartment and eventually move to a bigger one.

I understand with the 5% scheme, you can't use it more than every 10 years after ceasing to own a property. Is there a similar limitation to the 2% scheme aswell?

Legal to place motion-tracking camera on public street?

Hi everyone,

just wondering if it is legal to place a flashing light (flashes red-and-blue), next to a sidewalk on a property you own. The light is activated by a motion sensor and tracks whoever whoever walks or drives on the street. It would also have an automated voice telling pedestrians they are being watched.

The street is public access, but is dead-end, with primarily businesses on it.

BTW, I am referring to an actual situation present on a street near my home. Wondering if it is actually legal to operate.

AusPost parcel transfer service is trash

As title states. This is all happening in metro Melbourne btw. My post office is only open 9-5 on weekdays so I have no opportunity to collect my parcel. I signed up for parcel collect at a different post office (geographically the nearest one, in the Melbourne CBD), in the suburb over. However I accidentally ordered to my old PO and needed to transfer the parcel to collect it.

The actual shipping to the original PO from outer suburbia took 2 days.

The shipping transfer between Post Offices has so far taken 7 days. This is not including the time spent processing my transfer request.

Could not recommend it any less. Lesson learnt to not make that mistake again :(

At what point do I find out my package is lost?

Waiting on a package from Singapore. UPS insists Customs Clearance has been completed already. No updates since "On the way" on the 12th. Will UPS ever make the call that my package probably isn't coming, or do I need to get the seller to lodge a claim? Is there even a point in contacting UPS support again?

What are these? Melbourne, Victoria, Aus

Found in a park growing amongst leaves of Moreton Bay figs. Growing in pairs/trios. Most are pretty small, maybe 5cm-ish maximum.

Dangerous Park St/Royal Pde Intersection

Welp, my first time being hit by a car. Seriously though, wtf is up with this intersection? It's so dangerous to turn right when going across Park St. Someone was blocking the bike lane, so I took a car lane before I entered the intersection. Had all my lights and gear on, and a car did a u-turn right in front of me, or into me, I should say, on the other side of the intersection.

It is fucking crazy to me that we haven't come up with a better solution to incorporating bikes into intersections

Half-accessible tram stops?

Please excuse my shitty photo but what exactly is the point of having a ramp on this side of the tram stops at Collins/Spring St when there when there's no cut-in on the kerb for disabled/bike/pram access? Is it an oversight or are they just future-proofing the stop for accessibility, like they did with the Collins/Swanston St stops?

They don't even have a pedestrian marking for pedestrians leaving this side of the stop, I always see people jogging across it because pedestrians don't have right of way here. The cars gunning it down this section of Collins have almost taken me out so many times, in both directions
