Helokeep 26F or Aipas M1 Pro Xterrain ST for casual riding and light gravel?

I have been researching ebikes for a few weeks and I think I have narrowed it down to two options:

Helokeep 26F

Aipas M1 Pro Xterrain ST

The more I compare them, the more I realize I probably need advice from people who have actually owned or worked on these kinds of bikes, not just spec sheets.

My riding would be pretty normal. Mostly bike paths, neighborhood rides, weekend cruising, short errands, and occasional gravel. I am not trying to ride hard trails, jump anything, or chase top speed.

What I care about most is comfort, battery life, braking, reliability, and whether the bike still feels easy to live with after the first few weeks?

The Helokeep 26F interests me because it seems to include a lot for the price. The bigger battery, full suspension, hydraulic brakes, rear rack, and fat tires all sound useful for rougher pavement, casual rides, and light gravel. My concern is that it might be a heavier bike to move around, lock up, or store, and I do not want to buy something that looks good on paper but feels annoying day to day.

The Aipas M1 Pro Xterrain ST also looks like a strong option. It seems more like the kind of bike that could work for mixed everyday riding instead of only smooth pavement. My hesitation is that I am having a harder time judging the real ownership side, especially comfort, parts, support and long term reliability.

So I am basically stuck between:

Helokeep 26F: seems like a lot of features for the money, probably good for comfort and rougher roads, but possibly heavier and less convenient day to day.

Aipas M1 Pro Xterrain ST: also looks capable and interesting for mixed riding, but I am less sure about the real world comfort and ownership experience.

For people who have ridden either one, owned similar fat tire ebikes, or worked on bikes in this category, which would you trust more for casual riding, weekend use, short errands, and light gravel?

If you were spending your own money today, would you choose based on the bigger feature list, or would you prioritize the bike with the better long term ownership experience?

Looking for people who've lived with more than one dry flush toilet in a tiny house, what was the real difference once you were using it every day

We've been in our tiny house for about a year and a half now, off grid, no black tank. So a dry flush toilet was kind of the obvious move from day one.

We started with the Laveo because it's the big name, the one everyone points you to. And honestly, no complaints about how it works day to day. It flushes, it seals, it does what it's supposed to.

But here's the thing that's been eating at me lately. It's not one big cost. It's the fact that every single use costs you a bag.

Even being careful, two people go through roughly two bags a day. At close to $1.50 per bag, that adds up faster than I fully accounted for when we bought it. Over a year and a half, that's not nothing.

I'm not here to trash Laveo. It's a solid system. But the ongoing cost is real.

So now I'm looking at the modiwell as a potential switch. The bags run cheaper, around $0.50 each, and if I sell the Laveo used, I probably wouldn't have to add much to make the swap.

But before I commit, I want to hear from people who have actually lived with both. Not just read the spec sheets.

A few things I'm genuinely curious about:

The sealing mechanism. Laveo does the twist and knot thing where it chains together, and eventually you're dealing with a whole strip. From what I can tell, modiwell heat seals each bag individually. Does that actually feel different day to day?

What are people really paying per bag once you're buying in bulk, not just the intro price?

Any hidden ongoing costs that sneak up on you after a few months?

Does the mechanism hold up the same over a year of daily use, or does one start wearing out sooner?

Not looking for a sales pitch. I can find plenty of those on my own. Just want honest comparisons from people who've actually run both long enough to know the real difference, good or bad.

Appreciate any insight. Thanks.

Alexis at 37 as a DP sounds very MLS… but Montreal might actually need this

The Athletic and Reuters are reporting that CF Montréal are bringing in Alexis Sánchez as a Designated Player, though the club hadn't officially confirmed it when the news dropped.

My first reaction was what most people's probably was: 37-year-old star heads to MLS, here we go again.

But honestly, the reaction over on MLS is more interesting. A bunch of Montréal fans are basically saying: we've done way dumber things, and actually using the DP spot is better than just letting it sit there.

And I kinda get that.

Alexis obviously isn't the Arsenal version anymore. No argument there. But Montréal also need a bit of buzz, some leadership, and someone who can still flip a game in one moment.

So does a DP slot always have to be about future resale value? Or is it worth burning one on a veteran season if the alternative is basically doing nothing with it?
