How is Reform's plan to scrap ILR going to benefit the NHS?

The Royal college of Nursing has already announced that we are on the brink of a major collapse due to the chronic lack of nursing staff, so how is targeting people who have already settled or plan to settle going to help in this department?

That is even before taking into consideration their plan to increase the minimum wage for a working visa to 60k p/year?

What are your thoughts on this? Is Reform to be trusted which such a radical plan?

Edit. For the records, I do not trust Reform with this. In fact, I personally think this might be in many ways, a direct attack to the NHS, to undermine its capabilities, create a problem it did not exists before, and trying to "solve it" by privatising our health care. Just interested to see what other's people views are on this particular matter.

Reform scrapping ILR = Direct Target to NHS

Make what you want of it, but I firmly believe that behind all the nonsensical claims Reform is making, the plan of scrapping the Indefinite Leave to Remain is in many ways, a precise and well plotted plan, direct to attack and sink the NHS.

The aim is to create a critical worker shortage, which in turn, will give Reform the perfect excuse to turn this to savage privatisation of the healthcare sector as a whole.

A much stringent, or higher salary threshold to obtain a working visa in the UK, will obliterate a large number of this precious workforce the NHS relies on.

Mark this post down, should that lot happen to be in power, there's no doubt that they will try every trick in their book, to get all the investors behind them on this.

The Tories did it with the Water companies and Trains back then, and Reform will be doing it with the NHS.

Carhartt Rugged Flex Dye job - Before & After

Carhartt Rugged Flex originally in beige, dyed to green.

I've used a Rit all-purpose Sage Green and mixed in hot water for 45 min.

The original beige made it veer to a more olive colour (I was hoping to get more of a bluish/purplish tint) also the chest patch did pick a bit of colour and stained a little but... nevertheless, I think it came out pretty nicely!

What do you think?

[Hamilton] new 36 mm mechanical - on the fence - help me decide

Almost all my watches are 36/37mm, as it's the kinda of size I find most comfortable and I enjoy to wear.

I find this new 36mm mechanical watch Hamilton is about to release very interesting (wish it didn't have fixed lugs but I could live with it).

My worries are...

If I pre-order it in EU, it is over 600 euros just for the standard version (no fancy packaging and extra strap) so... Should I perhaps wait for some retailers to have it on a discount? (It happened with the Seiko Rotocalls, which were heavily discounted soon after their release)

Also, do you think Hamilton will finally release their classic mechanical field watch (now 38) in a 36mm case next year? We know the market is calling for smaller watches and the 38 has been out there forever now...

What are your thoughts?

First and foremost, most watches are russians because they are cheap, aesthetically pleasing (to me at least) and with decent heritage. I don't not support any war and I don not wish associate this hobby with no politics.

Having said that, I don't work in a office and I don't have a mega income. I was fortunate enough to have owned some good watches in the past (Omega, Sinn, CWC to name some) but I realised that no one really cares out there about what you are wearing, and you don't have to break the bank to have interesting time pieces that can be excellent conversation starters.

I wanted a watch for every occasion that wasn't a knock off of something else and that's what I've ended up with.

From left to right

Dress watch - 36mm vintage nos Raketa (small mechanical watch for less than a meal for two)

Chronograph - cal. 3017 column wheel, same used by the cosmonauts back in the day (I owned a modern Moonwatch for a while... I actually find this Sekonda more appealing)

Daily beater - Rotocall limited edition, because if you are actually using your watch for work, digital is just better. Period.

Diver - Amphibia limited edition, no mods/custom parts. Perfect for drinking on the beach in the summer (you all want 200m WR and that what most really use a diver watch for, or worse, to sit behind a desk)

My first watch - The very first watch that was ever given to me when I was only a small kid. Luckily it remained in a drawer for decades after stopping. Changed the battery not so long ago... And still ticking happily!!

I'm not planning to fill the last gap because I still like to "dream" about the next purchase but that's where it should end!

Anyway, let me know what you guys think and I hope you'll like it!
