I run a freight forwarding business that helps people ship products from overseas to India. What products are difficult to source here?

Hey everyone,

I run a freight forwarding business that helps people and businesses get products from other countries delivered to India.

The idea is pretty simple. For example, if you find something in the US that doesn’t ship directly to India, you can send it to our warehouse there. We then arrange the international shipment, coordinate customs clearance, and organise delivery within India.

We currently have a network covering 11 locations, including the US, UK, China, Hong Kong, Canada, UAE, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Malaysia.

We’ve built up a regular customer base of 350+ users and a monthly turnover of more than 3200+ KG In and out.
handling different types of shipments, from phones and electronics to car parts, machinery, shoes, watches and other products. We also work with businesses that need to import goods rather than just individual customers buying something for personal use.

One of the main things we’re trying to do is make international shipping more convenient and affordable. The overall cost depends on the product, weight, shipping route and applicable customs duties, and we check whether a shipment can legally be imported before accepting it.

Would be interesting to hear what others have experienced, especially people running businesses that depend on imported products.

Operational International Freight Forwarding & Import Business — Seeking Investor, Strategic Partner.

I’m seeking a serious investor, strategic partner, or potential person for an operational international freight forwarding and import business with an established logistics network, active customer demand, and early revenue traction.
This is an operating business rather than a concept requiring development from the ground up. The business has access to approximately 11 warehouse locations across key international markets, including China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, the UK, USA, Canada, Dubai/UAE and other locations. This network supports flexible sourcing, consolidation, storage and shipment coordination across multiple trade routes.
The business provides an integrated logistics solution covering international freight forwarding, warehouse handling, customs coordination, air and sea freight, local transportation and Indian-side delivery. By managing multiple stages through one service, the business can offer customers greater convenience, clearer coordination and a more streamlined import process than using separate providers for each stage.
In approximately four months, the business has generated around ₹48 lakh in freight-forwarding turnover, with operating margins currently around 20%+, depending on the shipment type, route and service provided. These results provide an initial operating track record and a foundation for further growth, subject to verification through financial and operational due diligence.
The business can support legitimate and compliant imports across categories such as electronics and gadgets, toys and collectibles, footwear, designer products, watches, jewellery and other consumer goods, subject to applicable Indian customs, import and regulatory requirements.
The main opportunity is to scale an existing operating model. Additional funding could be used for customer acquisition and marketing, sales development, working capital, technology and process improvements, route expansion, and increasing shipment capacity. With stronger customer acquisition and higher shipment volumes, the business has potential to improve revenue consistency, operating leverage and overall profitability.
For an investor or strategic partner, the opportunity is to participate in an established logistics operation with existing infrastructure, international access and demonstrated early traction. For a buyer or logistics operator, the business may provide a platform for expanding into cross-border freight forwarding and import services without building the entire network and operating process from scratch.
I’m open to discussing:
• Investment or capital partnership
• Strategic partnership with a logistics or sourcing operator
• Partial or complete acquisition
• Expansion through additional routes, warehouses or customer segments
• Different ownership, investment and profit-sharing structures
Financial records, shipment history, operating details, warehouse arrangements and supporting documentation can be shared with genuinely interested parties through a structured due-diligence process. Any transaction would be based on verified financials, operational performance, compliance requirements and mutually agreed terms.
I’m looking to connect with serious investors, logistics operators, entrepreneurs or potential buyers who understand freight forwarding, international trade or import businesses and can contribute capital, customers, operational expertise or strategic distribution.
If you’re genuinely interested, DM me with a brief introduction, relevant experience, what you’re looking for, and whether you’re considering investment, partnership or acquisition. We can then discuss the business, supporting information and potential structures privately.

16k for servicing a speed 400? My worst ever experience

I want to raise a serious concern regarding the service I recently received at Keerthi Triumph Adugodi.
On the 1st of this month, my bike’s battery completely died. The bike was not starting properly, so I had to leave it where I was and continue to my workplace. Later, when I tried starting it again, it still wouldn’t start. I contacted the Adugodi service centre, and instead of providing proper assistance, I was simply told to push-start the bike. I managed to push-start it with my friend’s help and somehow took it home.
The very next day, the battery was completely drained again. I recharged it, but for the next three days I had to keep push-starting the bike because the battery would keep dying and the bike would stop wherever I went.
I then contacted Bangalore Keerthi Triumph Adugodi again. Initially, they did not answer my call. When they eventually called me back, instead of addressing my battery issue, I was told that my periodic service was due soon and that I should get the service done. I was genuinely frustrated because I was specifically asking for help with a bike that was repeatedly losing battery power.
When I called again, I was told that RSA was available only once in a lifetime and that no person was currently available to assist me. They offered to arrange a local service at a cost of around ₹1,800. I refused because I felt this was something the service centre should be able to help me with.
Since I believed the battery itself was the problem, I went to Exide and replaced it with a brand-new battery. Even though triumph should have replaced my bike under warranty for my emergency situation i changed the new battery paying from my pocket which costed me ₹2250.Even the new battery was completely drained the very next day. At that point, I realised that the problem was clearly somewhere else in the bike.
Four days ago, I took the bike to Keerthi Triumph Adugodi and explained the entire issue. I also informed them that a small cosmetic plastic part worth around ₹200 was missing and asked them to replace it. I specifically asked them to diagnose why the battery kept draining.
The service advisor told me that it could possibly be a coil issue. I told him to check the bike properly and fix whatever was causing the problem. When I asked for an approximate cost, I was told that the total would be around ₹11,000,funny part is even without examining anything in bike he told me it would be ₹11000 which is really gross. That too excluding labour and taxes. I was then asked to sign on a blank sheet of paper where ₹11,000 had simply been written.
On the second or third day, the technician called me and told me that the coil had gone. When I asked how much the coil would cost, he told me approximately ₹800. I agreed and told him to replace it.
However, I later spoke to a friend who owns the same bike, and he told me that this component should potentially be covered under warranty because it is not a consumable part. I immediately contacted the service centre again and asked them to check the warranty coverage.
I was then told that my warranty claim had been rejected because I had supposedly serviced the bike late. This is something I strongly disagree with. I have never intentionally delayed my servicing beyond the required intervals. I missed the second periodic service coupon, but that does not mean I have been servicing the bike late. My services have generally been done around the required intervals, approximately every 8–9 months.
What is even more concerning is that I was initially told the coil would cost around ₹800, but the final bill shows a starter assembly/coil-related charge of ₹2,266. I was never properly informed that the cost had changed to this amount.
I was also contacted during the service and asked whether I wanted the chain replaced. I clearly said no and told them I would get it replaced later, probably after a month or so.
Today, when I went to collect the bike, I was shocked to see the final bill amounting to ₹16,118.
What made the situation even more frustrating was seeing other customers who had their bikes serviced by different technicians receiving bills of around ₹7,000–₹8,500, even including things like brake pads. When I tried to understand what parts and work were being charged on their bike, the service advisor told me, “Five minutes, sir, please sit,” in a dismissive manner.
I was then asked to sign at multiple places on the final bill.
My main concern is that I was never properly informed about several of these additional charges or repairs. I specifically asked them to diagnose the battery-draining issue and replace the faulty component. I did not authorise unnecessary replacements or additional work without being informed of the cost beforehand.
I also find it extremely difficult to understand how a Triumph Speed 400 can end up with a ₹16,118 bill for this particular visit, especially when the primary issue was a component that I believe should have been checked for warranty coverage.
There was also only one small cosmetic plastic part worth approximately ₹200 that I had specifically requested to be replaced, for which even the labour was around ₹150.
I have documentation and proof of the discussions, estimates and bills, including the ₹11,000 estimate that was initially given to me.
I genuinely want to understand how this bill was calculated, why the warranty claim was rejected, why I was initially told the coil would cost ₹800 but was later charged ₹2,266, and why additional work appears to have been carried out without my clear approval.
I will be escalating this matter because I feel the way this entire situation was handled was extremely unfair and unprofessional.
I would like Triumph/Keerthi Triumph to properly review my job card, warranty eligibility, parts replaced, labour charges and the final invoice, and provide me with a clear explanation for the ₹16,118 bill.
