Best College for Food science studies

Hey everyone,

What are the best public colleges in the US for a good experience as a young black woman? I'm an undergrad student in Food Science from Canada, looking for a one year exchange in the States, and I'm also interested in taking an Economics course.

I would love to attend an HBCU, though I'm open to a PWI as long as it has more than 6% Black students. Ideally, I'd prefer a university outside of the Deep South (unless it's in an environnement where Black students genuinely feel safe, welcomed, supported and not faced with hatred or hostility).

Thank you for your help!

Black Woman Student Experience at Clemson

Hi everyone,

Would you recommend Clemson to a fellow black woman? Could you please tell me more about your honest experience.

I would be an exchange student from Canada for the upcoming year.

For context, I was decided on going until I looked deeper into the history of South Carolina, Clemson, the death of Noah Wells and racial division in the Deep South and a testimony about the Black Student Experience at Clemson, all of which made me second guess my decision.

Thank you for your insight!
