Hello,
I am seriously hesitating between the two scales. One would be Pendraken + Cracker Line/Plant road for 10mm or Warlord Epic ACW + Kallistra for 12-13mm.
It is not such an easy choice at this stage because it means I have to commit to one size of models, and that will be it.
For rulesets, I will be mostly rotating between Longstreet, Altar of Freedom and Hot Lead & Cold steel.
My current collection for AWI is in 10mm and I enjoyed it, but I am wondering whether painting will not be a bit more fun with the slightly bigger 12-13mm figures. Or maybe I just need a change.
If I go Warlord + Kallistra it will be, according to my calculations 30% less expensive
Anyone else faced this problem? Anything I am not considering?
Thank you
First outing of my 10mm Epic Revolutionaries
As much as I root for my players and try to support their initiatives and ideas, sometimes they fail. Do you have to make them succeed at all costs for the sake of the adventure or just accept that every module cannot be successful.
I am asking because for the first time, an adventure that I ran wasn't successfully completed. It wasn't a bad session but it clearly ended in an unconclusive dead-end. They did not save the day.
I am not entirely set but I went with "if they screw up, they screw up". No everyone is a hero.
What's your view on this? Success at all costs? Go with defeat?
Some Peter pig and Flames of War figures.
Hello,
I have tons of figures to paint in 10mm for the French Revolution Wars. Google recommends General D'armee, Black Powder, etc...
I know these set of rules and I have played them a lot. They would not be my first choice at all for FRW!!
Do you know of specific sets that would work very well for French Revolutionary wars?
We played two games today with Early War models. We used simpler rules this time (flames of war) and it was fine.
Both games were shorter than planned. The first game was a German infantry list versus a French Infantry list. The German spent too much time preparing their attack with supporting units and could not capture the objectives in time.
The second game was a German tank list vs a French tank unit. Then again, the German counter attacked too early instead of grouping their force and taking their time. The end result was for the French to destroy the thin German forces piecemeal and capture the main objective.
