Partner doesn’t want to live there because we own dogs

I really want to move, we live in Melbourne and it’s a shit hole. I’m from the Sunshine Coast and miss QLD a lot. We frequently visit cairns/port Douglas for holidays and I’m keen to move up there early next year.

My partner is SO NEGATIVE about it and in particular about our dogs. Saying they’ll never be allowed off lead or to swim in the beach etc.

I know there’s more risk and understand absolutely NO river swimming or walking along those banks.

My questions are for people with dogs:

Do you let your dog run free on the beach?
Is it really that restrictive to their lifestyle living up there?
Do you let them off at inland waterfalls where crocs aren’t present?
Are you worried about them constantly when you’re out?

I wanted a locals perspective, we have 2 border collies that love swimming, love running and going wild. They’re both obedient and well trained.

Rental experience with pets?

Hey guys! Noticing nearly no rentals are flagged as pets considered? - What gives? There’s heaps without the tag added on real estate.com, I’m looking to move up from the sunny coast and have a dog and cat.

Solid rental history with the pets and never seen such a shortage.

Do people just not put pets on applications? Or do people still apply for the ones that arent ‘pets considered’ anyway and hope they like me?

I know there’s laws around this and if it’s in a body corp place that doesn’t allow them that’s fair, I’m looking for a townhouse/house with a yard.

Does anyone have any insight on this?

Really at the end of my rope with my 7 month old dood

Did anyone else have an extremely cheeky dog? She’s an angel at my house but a devil at my partners, destroys everything, destroys her older dog brothers bedding, eats plants, eats furniture. and pees/ poo’s EVERYWHERE (despite having a backyard here!).

The toilet stuff is the worst, I take her out every hour or so to the toilet spot and sometimes she pees but more often than not she just runs upstairs or sneaks off to pee inside. She NEVER lets us know, despite going to the door either her and saving ‘toilet’ multiple times.

For context at my house without the other dog and a smaller unit with no outside area, I don’t have any of these issues. She sleeps and is a good girl all day.

My partner doesn’t want her here anymore and it’s getting to the point where I understand that, she’s really bad here.

Any advice? Has anyone had this problem before? I think it’s because she’s around another dog and gets very excited but it’s run its course and isn’t sustainable long term. Unsure what to do.

Pls help, angel at my house demon at my partners

7 month old golden doodle, beautifully well behaved at home, listens, goes toilet outside, doesn’t chew on all my things etc. plays with toys and sleeps.

At my partners house (who has another dog which she LOVES) she goes crazy, yes I know she’s excited. However she chews EVERYTHING he owns, poos and pees in the house, barks, bites, super naughty classic puppy behaviour.

We have routines there and she has an outdoor area. What should I be doing? I watch her constantly there because she’s always up to something. I know it’s because she’s over excited with the other dog but she’s a completely different dog. Partner is really over it, she’s destroyed so many things :(

Dog stitches 3 times in 6 weeks, same wound keeps opening once healed

4 year old border collie cut his front leg above his paw paw, his ankle I guess?

This was from a glass cut, it was stitched and healed. 3 days later on a walk it reopened when he went for a swim, the vet told us he cut it again on something (doubting this now it’s happened again)

It was stitched and healed, vet said business as usual. Took him for a run a week later and the same wound has reopened.

Taking him in again today to the same vet probably for stitches.

Super frustrating, the vet said he can return to normal activities each time. Unsure what to do now as this is the third time it’s reopened, should we get a second opinion? Are there options for butterfly stitches after normal stitches?

And lastly we always have to put the cone on him which is really hard, he can’t use the bathroom of a day with it on, can we put a breathable bandage on it while at work? He just tries to lick them not chew.

Does anyone else just have an insanely overactive brain? Help!

Hello ladies, I was diagnosed a few years back with autism after being labeled a HSP for years (lol). I have always suffered with panic disorder, anxiety, OCD type stuff and I feel like my brain just doesn’t switch off. No ADHD, I was tested. On lexapro for anxiety and it’s great (low dose).

I’m just wanting someone to tell me they get it basically or it’s a normal trait? Or is it?

I constantly complain about this to my psych and she’s said it’s more of an autism type trait though I never hear people complaining about this? I mean it’s great at times, I love my brain with its pattern recognition, forward thinking, ability to dive into something and obsess though this is OFTEN turned in on me if I’m not occupied. I’m luckily in a job that relies on these traits so I’m lucky in that way, my brain gets to have exercise but god.

It’s exhausting at times, I don’t relax or can’t relax, my brain is always racing, assessing, organizing and thinking.

Obedience questions!!

My little girl is a standard groodle, she’s 7 months old so she’s in her cheeky stage. My question is does anyone own an obedient dood? From my understanding most of them are cheeky divas.

We also have an older border collie who wouldn’t dare not listen to his mum, but the little one sometimes goes to run out on the road, tried to eat a nail off the street, chases our cat when outside.

Picture of the little demon and her angel brother.

Any advice welcome!

Please help!

Purchased: ‘eufy Security eufyCam 3 4K UHD 4-Pack Camera Kit with HomeBase 3’

Only had it for 3 days now the 2 back cameras say ‘unable to play live video’ but it works on the web portal?!

I have tried everything:

-Manually turned cameras on/off
-Switched modes for cameras then back to get retriever them
-logged in/out of app
-deleted and redownloaded app
-tried to soft reset cameras via homemade twice (hold back button until it beeps)
-tested alarms on cameras (both working - cameras online, no video)
- unplugged the modem for 30 seconds then reconnected
-unplugged the home base for 1 minute then plugged back in
- firmware/software is up to date
- the cameras are on but just not working in any app?! Tried on both android and iOS.

Reached out to support but it’s driving me crazy. Has anyone had this weird issue?
