How would you like the character system to work?

Community-created characters :

The site would rely entirely on its own characters. Registered users could create their own characters and share them with the community.

Community-created + imported characters

The site would allow users to create their own characters, **while also actively searching for characters from multiple other sites**, so users can have a large selection of active characters to interact with, even if their creators are not registered on the site.This means that if you have characters that Belongs you with evidence and you are not registered, you will need to call the help center to have them implanted. Clone characters will be automatically deleted.

The test website is coming to an end, and I'm now going to start working on the homepage. 🚀

This is the next step of the project after all the work done on the chat system and the different tests.

This test helped me discover a lot of things that need to be improved, especially regarding the AI model, conversation quality, repetition, and overall stability.

The website was only a temporary sandbox, and now it's time for me to take everything I learned from this test and continue working on the actual project.

The next steps will be focused on building the rest of the platform, including the homepage, character system, and other features.

After reviewing the test results and the recorded conversations, I have to admit that this AI model is not ready for the project. 😅

The main problems are exactly what I was worried about:

• It sometimes hallucinates information.
• It repeats itself too often.
• It struggles to keep a consistent conversation over time.

Because of this, I will remove this model for now. I don't want to keep an AI that gives a worse experience than expected.

For the moment, I will switch back to the previous AI model, which is much more stable for testing.

This test was still very useful because it helped identify the weaknesses of this model. The search for the right AI continues, because finding a model that can handle natural and long conversations is one of the most important parts of the project.

I’m currently recreating the old Character.AI chat interface as accurately as possible. Some parts of the interface had to be recreated from memory or made from scratch, so they may not be completely identical to the original.

If you still have old chat screenshots, saved conversations, screen recordings, or any other material showing the old interface, I’d really appreciate it if you could share them. They would help me compare details and make the reconstruction much closer to the original.

You can blur, remove, or hide any private information before sharing. I’m mainly interested in the interface itself: message layout, buttons, menus, animations, colors, spacing, and other visual details.

Hi everyone! I've successfully recreated the old.character.ai chat interface. The original JavaScript couldn't be reused because it was broken on the website, so I had to rewrite it myself. There are still a few things to polish, but it's already working, and I'm almost finished!

Bonjour... Je pense que je pourrais créer une extension de navigateur qui modifie le CSS de Character.AI pour qu’il ressemble à l’ancien Character.AI. Mais pour ça, il me suffit d’un fichier HTML contenant une conversation téléchargée.

Et je ne parle pas de CAI Tools. Je parle d’une discussion complète sauvegardée, soit en utilisant Ctrl + S dans Microsoft Edge (ou un autre navigateur), soit en utilisant une extension de navigateur qui sauvegarde toute la page web (HTML, CSS, JS, etc.).
