Could I have some advice for someone who is trying to prep for rasp?

I know this is the SF sub, but the Ranger sub is dead. Anyways I’m currently 18m 6,3 215 pounds. My stats are lame but I’m working on it lol 😂

50 push ups

6 pull ups

62 sit ups

5 mile run: around 37:50

I am just a large guy and I want to get to a good 205 pounds but my thighs are so large because I’ve played sports all my life. But, it’s mostly muscle so I’m not sure if it’s even beneficial to get rid of it. Should I try to lower my weight or should I just embrace it?

I am thinking about recon marines

Every time I tell someone who knows or is in the military, they always try to redirect me. “Oh go other special operations, like ranger” or “they are basically seals but for the marines and don’t do anything, just go seals” etc! But I like the idea of recon and their mission set. Am I really being twirled with propaganda right now? I’m gonna try to hit the fleet before beforehand and I’ve been working out and swimming like crazy. I got to time it tho but I can run a 7:30-6:50 pace for around 6 miles depending on the day lol.

The way they handle the boys at the end!

For so long they were building up the guys and had handled them pretty good up until maybe season 7. After that the show kind of just started clowning nerds and the constant gag that (as much as I love penny) she seemed like she was done or over the relationship, almost got up to bullying type relationship, then Howard who had a great comeback. They turned him into a child who depended on his wife like he did his mom. I got no problem with Bernadette (even though I’m not the biggest fan) but the constant bullying and the way she keeps telling people or him that she makes more money is so cringe. Same goes for penny!

I was fine with the way Sheldons and Raj’s characters turned out!

I was wondering if anyone follows a diet?

Hello I one day want an opportunity to try out for special operations, either opt 40 or another, anyways I make minimum wage so I’m not able to afford a lot. But I’m trying my best to keep a very healthy diet. But I was wondering if anyone in special operations follows a CERTAIN diet? Or do y’all just run it off lol. If so could you give me some tips? I’m doing research now but it doesn’t hurt to ask. Good day!

82nd airborne?

18m wanting to join, is the 82nd airborne a good place to join? I hear crap about it constantly lol. How would I go about that? Is it like a selection? Is it a good way to learn stuff so I can see where I take my army career?

How long should I wait before SFAS?

I’m wanting to join the army, but I have no experience and I am 18m and really like the concept of the green berets. Learning languages and stuff is what I’m really into. I’m not looking to go to college tho and just want to join. How long should I wait after going in if I try for an airborne contract? I am not old enough for a 18x and that’s the problem. So I’m just wondering because I don’t mind being conventional, just would like to give SF a try in the future.

75th ranger regiment

I don’t want to give it my all, hopefully get picked. Then just do nothing for my whole contract. How often does that happen? I would imagine a lot more than it used to because of peace time.

Are people really overlooking this?

I know this has probably been said many times. But as much as I love the character itself. I don’t think Shane gets more than enough hate. I don’t even got to write down why I think he’s a bad person. But in the midst of hating people like the governor, sure Shane is not that bad if you compare but geez. People be glazing him over the internet like crazy. Love the actor though!

Is the 82nd airborne worth it?

Im 18m and I’m just here to ask if the 82nd is really as bad as some people say? I’ve heard mixed things, but I wanna one day try my shot at SFAS, but I also want some experience before, I also just want to focus on getting in. Just wondering if it’s really worth it or should I just find another way?

Need some input with a choice.

What’s going on ya’ll, I have a question, so I have no interest in any other mission set when it comes to sof. Like, the mission a GB carries out looks much more appealing than just running and gunning. Now, from what I’ve heard a 20 year old signing a 18x contract isn’t the smartest decision. I’m only 18 now but for family reasons I’m not able to enlist yet. I know I’m young and all, but I swear I’ve asked myself if this is really the group I want to try for and it really is. So I’m asking you guys if I should just send it when I get the chance, or should I probably stop looking so far ahead into the future, or maybe even try to be in the conventional army beforehand?
