How to dispose of large styrofoam items?

We just purchased a new 65” TV. It came packed between two pieces of styrofoam that at about 5’x4’.

How do I dispose of these in Brookline? They won’t fit in my trash wheelie bin. They can’t be recycled. Do I have to pay $20 for a Large Item Pickup? Can I bring them to the drop off at Skyline Park?

Thanks for any info or suggestions.

It looks like a TV showing a painting

We set up our Frame Pro, turned it on, put it in Art Mode, chose a picture…

And it looks like a big old TV displaying a picture.

The room is not very well lit and it is night time, so the thing was clearly glowing. No way anyone would ever think this was anything but a TV.

Does Art Mode only work in brightly lit rooms? Is there some manual adjustment to make it glow less?

Mysterious selective power outage near Coolidge Corner

There's some sort of new fangled power outage happening in the Griggs Park neighborhood near Coolidge Corner. In my home and the homes of two neighbors, some of the circuits are working and some aren't. In some rooms the lights and window ACs work, in some they don't.

I've spoken with two neighbors who are experiencing the same thing.

Eversource is reporting a power outage in our neighborhood, but this one is behaving differently from any power outage we've had in the past. Instead of losing all power to the house, some of the circuits have full power, and some have no power.

Does anyone know what's going on here? Is this related to the new Smart Meters that Eversource gave us a few weeks ago? It's certainly better than losing all our power, but I'd still like to know more about what's going on and how it works.

Spanish kids TV with English subtitles in the US?

Is there a good place to find kids TV shows with the audio available in Spanish and subtitles available in English? I live in the US, and I'm thinking this could be a good way for my kiddo to have more exposure to Spanish. But I'm having a hard time finding a streaming service available in the US that offers kids content.

Steven Universe is one example. My kid loves it. It was apparently dubbed into Spanish (LatAm). Is there any way to stream that in the US? Ideally with English subtitles? Other shows would work. Shows that originated in Latin American countries, or US shows that have been dubbed into Spanish.

When I look for a Spanish streaming service I just get Fubo (mostly sports and news) and FlixLatino (search shows no kids content, but maybe the search is just broken?).

Any ideas appreciated!

Support Brookline News

The last few months have reminded me how valuable it is to have Brookline News in our town. Local news is so important, and when we lost the Tab we were at risk of losing local new coverage. I mean, the Turkey is great, but this is different.

Please consider supporting Brookline News through a recurring contribution. It's like an old-school subscription. If we don't support it, we'll lose it.
