Is anyone else experiencing this while browsing and shopping on Temu?
I did a search for 'electric pet groomers' and spotted this one for $9.37.
As soon as I click on the image to go to the product page.....the price increases to $12.50!🤷‍♀️
I thought maybe the Pink shaver is a higher price than $9.37 BUT when I changed the color to White....the price is still increased to $12.50??🤨

I know $3.13 is a really small amount, however I still can't help but feel like I'm being lied to and cheated.😞🤦‍♀️

Plus, this might have been happening for a long time and I'm just noticing it now!?

Honeywell Dehumidifier Not Collecting Any Moisture?

I picked up a working dehumidifier at a garage sale for $30.(plugged in & tested before purchase) Sounded good, not extremely loud as others I've heard.
Brand/Model is Honeywell HDH-125.

My front porch is closed in with glass windows and doors. During an over night rainstorm, I left the porch windows open and the rug got saturated from the rain. 🤦‍♀️ This dehumidifier has been 'running' for more than 24 hours but the rug is still soaked AND not a single drop of water in the bucket to empty!!??
Is there something I'm doing wrong? 🤷‍♀️

The buttons I used were for the first 24 hours were....

  1. Power button
  2. arrows that form a 'rotating' circle (i think this is for continuous run?)
  3. the button that displays 2 water drops
  4. I set the number on the digital screen to the highest (80) but it kept dropping down to 59.
  5. I played around with all the buttons again today but still not picking up a drop of moisture!

I'm in southern Ontario where we are presently going through extremely high heat temperatures, (35C today and 33C yesterday) thunder storms, and with humidity levels the temps are well above 40C.

I just dug out my OLD dehumidifier that was under the crawl space and plugged it in. I bought it at Canadian Tire back in 1999 and it started right up! 😁

All I have to do with this one is turn a dial from min to max to set it. A ball will float to the top and turn the machine off when the bucket is full. If the dehumidifier is OFF, I just empty it, put the bucket back in and Vrrooom, back to sucking up moisture!
I'll know tomorrow morning (leaving it run all night) if it still works or not?

I just don't know if the Honeywell dehumidifier is a DUD? or, if I'm not setting it correctly and pressing the wrong buttons??

UPDATE:

This morning I checked on the OLD machine. It was still running when I came out and the bucket was 75% full!
My rug is now completely dry! 😊 This old gal is a definite BEAST I can rely on!

Thanks all for your helpful advice.
This morning I placed the Honeywell out on the back deck this time, to give it another go. I could no longer test it on the front porch because the beast sucked every bit of moisture outta there.😉 Weird thing is, the Honeywell still read the moisture level in the room as "59%" even though the beast completely dried everything up?🤷‍♀️
It seems the sensor on this machine does not work accurately!

Today, the outside temperature dropped some since yesterday and was 26C/ 79F. According to Environment Canada, the humidity level for my location is 87%!!😩🥴

I did what you all advised! Turned on the power, set the digital to the LOWEST number possible, 35 and I also pressed the 'double raindrops' button. The machine did get a little louder when I pushed that last button, so I assume it make it work harder?
I left it run until before supper, (about 7 hours) and still, not a single drop of water was collected in it's bin!!
So the Honeywell needs to go to the dump!!

Thanks again to y'all for helping!👍

Looking For Ideas Using LED's To Back Light A House Address Sign?

I want to use led strip lighting to back light the \"Sixteen\" mounted on my garage.

The purpose of my project is to back light my house number but I need some help!
My house number "Sixteen" is made from black HDPE plastic and is 1/4" thick and 28" in length.
When mounting it to the garage there wasn't enough space to mount it below the light because of the garage framing/trim, so I had to mount it above the light. That created a problem....when the light is on, the light projects downward to the driveway and the house number is in the DARK and not visible from the sidewalk/street!🤦‍♀️ I clearly didn't think that project through.
So, I intend to take it down and use waterproof led strip lighting on the back. I would like to get this right the FIRST time!😉

I don't really know enough about this and don't know where to start??🤷‍♀️😕

I would like to use ultra thin IP68 waterproof COB strip 24V because the font gets very narrow in spots and this type is very flexible. Even an IP65 would be okay because it's not being submerged in water.
I would also like to have the color change options. It would be nice to change the Cool white to a green at Christmas time or red for July 1st. (Canadian here😊)
One more must have....controlled by smart app so I can ask google to turn it on.

I think I could mount the lighting securely on the back by gluing on some strip mounting clips.
But here's where I'm completely lost, and not even sure if this is possible or not?

I don't know how to make a steady flow of light going from letter to the next letter without the strip being seen from the front? How do I get from the 'S' over to the 'i' and then to the 'x' etc while keeping the COB hidden? I'm wondering if I can use 5 different separate pieces and connect them all to a Bluetooth module mounted behind on the inside of the garage wall, which is connected to the power supply?

I played around with the font experimenting how I could run the strip from letter to letter.
Obviously, the 'S' is completely separate. (so that's one piece)
In order to avoid doubling back on some letters, which would make that letter shine brighter than the others, it would take me 5 separate pieces to cover all of the letters evenly. I only used different colors in the image sample (red green yellow etc) to show the path and direction I would run the strips but more importantly, to show where I would have to cut and use end caps.

One more thing, I'm terrible at soldering so I would definitely want to use solderless quick connects.

How would you tackle this project? 🤷‍♀️
I'm sure it's possible, I just don't know that much about led lights, or the right options to choose to accomplish what I want.😕

Crap! "You must include links to the products you intend to use" 🤦‍♀️😖😩 I DON'T KNOW??? That's why I came here asking!

Maybe these......https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0G7JSFSQ1/?coliid=I1VNTBI9KU4CA2&colid=19BRZFAO7IOLR&th=1

Or maybe these??.....https://www.amazon.ca/Clearhill-Connectors-Double-Ended-Solderless-Connector/dp/B0DRN8Y6HQ?crid=26YL1RG75YJA1&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.1sF7hXwP7AbsPAoz4ebE8XQuYxehz8CvNrRUd17zL3ab3Ucc_yd9jxvfNC4yXvwHkS3PMqWDTTQePrt7JmjC7qqNN511wEV4AToWTUyfaOtRl2fW0TD_6BwbfRpGJYE1Ig3EMg1BOfg26ly3a__XQTRc_OKb05hZzJZs3n6jt58dP5OCRf0VIOXc925fGQbJTaz9gKiy2zTMMNY7brk5eoQAkGHZEDaXklvzIpRbwJF9T9pv_mSSRkfK_lTaIowgWIO13XE-E-uJZiqz5bdulE--Qdlfg0bgZjyLG_QmXcU.8BFt8s395HGR0dnAwMDjmvFXb0T-2zkuo_I5zIdxmbc&dib_tag=se&keywords=Solderless%2Bcob%2B5mm%2BLED%2BStrip%2Bto%2BWire%2Bquick%2Bconnects&qid=1782529169&sprefix=solderless%2Bcob%2B5mm%2Bled%2Bstrip%2Bto%2Bwire%2Bquick%2Bconnects%2Caps%2C115&sr=8-2&th=1

How could I run the strip of lights behind each letter without double tracking on any single letter? Less cuts and strips means less holes through the siding into the garage too.😉

Garden Hose Blows Off Karcher Pressure Washer When Faucet Is Turned On

I have a new Karcher 4 Power Control pressure washer I just purchased only days ago.

The issue I'm having with it is, the garden hose fittings included (yellow portion and black portion, images attached) keep separating!?🤷‍♀️
Each time I move the machine slightly the garden hose blows off!😖
It doesn't seem to matter how tight they appear to fit together during application, but when I turn on the faucet, they come apart. The three tiny white teeth inside the yellow half don't grab tightly. I can't understand why Karcher still continues to use these for years now??

I also have an older model Karcher K2, I've had for 7 years and I'm still using it with these same cheap plastic fitting parts, but it doesn't have this problem with the fitting separating. The garden hose always stays attached, however, it has leaked at this connection for most of the 7 years. The leak of course also lowers the pressure on the old machine.

I want to replace these fittings with something brass, strong and quick connect....I prefer no plastic stuff!
I can't seem to find what I need using google searches!? The results are always fittings for the pressure hose to power washer connections or pressure hose to wand connections.
Not what I need.🤦‍♀️

My garden hose is 3/4" black rubber with a 3/4" male fitting on the end. (100 ft length)
The pressure washer also has a 3/4" plastic male water intake pipe.

I already contacted Karcher, and they are shipping me a replacement, the exact same plastic garbage you see in the pictures.

New K4 came with these....same as the old model.

Thanks in advance for any/all your suggestions.😊

Update:
As a previous commenter noted, a brass/metal quick connect fitting might not be the best choice for me because the black water intake pipe on the machine is plastic!? 😕
So I just don't know what to replace this part with that will provide strong hold under pressure?
I don't have much trust in Karcher fittings anymore....one LEAKED and now the new one comes APART!🤷‍♀️

These three small white teeth don't grab tight enough
