Has singing changed your opinion of songs? (fun post)

I started singing lessons about a year ago after some friends suggested I try it out following a successful random unplanned karoake attempt (I had not sung in about 15 years having always tried to avoid it). During that karaoke experience I picked songs I liked and before taking up lessons listened to certain songs with a view to singing them. A good example is The Verve "Bitter Sweet Symphony" which for years a I loved, now from the perspective of trying to sing it I find it boring. Even if I still like the song and love the band. There are other examples too from REM... So this is more of a fun post, but have you started to find songs you loved boring and why?

I guess when one analyses songs with a view to singing them the perspective can change entirely.

ASUS CX34 battery lifespan

Hello,

I have a CX34 (I3) Chromebook Plus, which has made me a bit of a convert to ChromeOS. Anyway, I am curious to know what people think the lifespan (charge cycle number) I can expect from such a battery? I have had many laptops over the years where everything worked, except for the battery. After about 18months the battery health on my CX34 is showing up as 87%.

My Priority Pass membership expired so I am considering moving from Metal to Ultra on Revolut. I would appreciate any vews on the two services, as I have read the Dragon Pass is generally less accepted in Europe. I typically use the lounges 18-25 times per year. Usually this is without a guest.

As the price of moving from Metal to Ultra (when also dropping Priority Pass) is minimal, the quesrtion more relates to the quality of the lounges offered.

I have generally been happy with Priority Pass, although it is clear that as the lounges get busier access is being restricted and the general quality is falling.

I have a Beringer UMC204HD which also has MIDI ports. I have a Akai MIDI keyboard. I am curious to know if there is any meaningful advantage to using the keyboard via the Behringer (which in turn goes via USB). My computer (Mac Mini) is has loads of devices directly and indirectly via USB, so in the past that caused problems with overload and audio interfaces failing. I am new to Reaper, and will in due time switch to it from Garageband.

Hello, I started singing about 1 year ago and I have had fairly regular lessons since. I have noticed a huge difference in areas such as pitch accuracy, timing, range, breath control and style. Early on my teacher said that she liked by unique voice (although I was clearly no where near good at that point) and I am still far away from being anything like a pro singer. She also made it clear I should not copy others. My aim is to be really good, but not necessarily to perform it really is to push myself and learn about singing - so pure enjoyment. However, what I would like to do is develop my own perspective and style that is appealing to others should I ever get the desire to perform and also to push myself a bit more. More recently she has said that she likes the way that I express myself in songs, and that there is a lot of meaning when I sing. Anyway, I would appreciate any views or experiences people have on here of developing their own authentic style. I have looked on Youtube and often the videos are a bit vague.
