NHS pelvic ultrasound referral made by GP before finding out I’m pregnant

I’ve just found out that I’m pregnant. Before I knew, I had been referred for an NHS pelvic ultrasound, both transabdominal and transvaginal, for fertility reasons and a PCOS investigation.

I waited around three months for the appointment letter, which arrived today, but I haven’t called to book the scan yet.

Has anyone experienced this? When you called to book and told them you were pregnant, did they still go ahead with the scan, or did they cancel it?

Also, has anyone been in a similar situation where they went for a pelvic or transvaginal scan and only found out during the scan that they were pregnant?

Positive test just before my privately booked CARE Fertility pre treatment bundle. What happens now?

I booked the CARE Fertility pre treatment bundle privately after trying to conceive for 12 months and having one previous chemical pregnancy. The appointment is in 4 days and includes blood tests and a pelvic ultrasound.

I wonder if anyone has been in a similar situation.

Did the clinic:

* Still do the blood tests, considering they have been paid for...

* Cancel or postpone the pelvic ultrasound?

I'd really appreciate hearing what happened in your case. I'm cautiously excited but also quite nervous after my previous chemical pregnancy.

Thank you!

DWP Policy Advisor sift score of 5. How do I get to 6 or 7?

I applied for a SEO DWP Policy Advisor role and didn’t pass sift.

Scores were:
Data Analysis: 5
Personal Statement: 5
CV: 0, not assessed
Overall: 10
Unfortunately, I did not get any feedback beyond that.

For those who have sifted or passed similar roles:

What usually separates a 5 from a 6 or 7?
Do popular DWP roles usually need a 6 or 7 to get through?
Does a 5 usually mean the evidence was decent but not strong enough, or too generic?

Any advice would be really helpful.

*Edited to add that the application was for a SEO role

DWP application: no update after interview dates passed

It’s been a month since I submitted my application for a DWP role. The advert said sift week commencing 04/05/26 and interviews week commencing 18/05/26, but I’ve had no update at all.

Usually with Civil Service applications, I’ve seen them send an email if the sift is delayed, but I haven’t received anything. Is it safe to assume I haven’t been shortlisted or do DWP timelines often slip without updates?

Trying to decide whether to mentally move on from this one....

What do we think of the name Eloise

Picking baby names. Top one for now is

Eloise (pronounced EL oh eez)

Would also like to know if it comes with any nicknames

If it helps, we are in England and want something on the traditional side but not the topical ones like Catherine, Jane, Anne....

Thanks in advance

Today is CD27. Cycle 10 TTC. First cycle Trying Letrozole.

I took letrozole 2.5mg from CD3 to CD7. Got an LH peak on CD13 and CD14 using both Clearblue Advanced Digital and cheapies, so I assumed I was about to ovulate.

However, I’ve been tracking BBT and never got the sustained rise I usually get after ovulation, so I assumed this was an anovulatory cycle.

Yesterday, I started getting the pelvic cramps I usually get before ovulation. I wasn’t sure whether I was about to surge again or whether my period was coming, so I started testing again with cheapies. It now looks like I may have another positive LH strip on CD27.

I started letrozole because I was hoping it would help regulate my cycle, but honestly it feels like it has made things more confusing.

Has anyone else had an early LH surge on letrozole that didn’t lead to ovulation, followed by another LH surge around two weeks later? Did you end up ovulating late?
