MBA for 40 year old

Aiming for full time T15 MBA schools, age 40, have a undergrad gpa of 3.2 (premed) and have a masters in accounting 3.6 gpa. Don’t have the CPA. Have 5 years work experience as assistant director of a healthcare organization. Used the masters after to try and pivot into the big 4 as audit associate for 1.5 years before being laid off. The masters is not helping me break into any roles as of this moment. Never broke 100k in salary either and thinking going back to school for MBA might help through ocr secure those higher paying roles. My 20’s were a mess filled with odd jobs and unrelated work and periods of time I was out of work dealing with mental health, got my act together at 30.

EMBA wouldn’t fit me because I don’t have the two decades of experience to fall back on and I’m looking for the traditional ocr that full time mbas have.

I don’t have children or a family that I need to provide for so being without income for two years won’t be an issue.

What am I doing wrong?

Been applying to all kinds of roles, for the past 4 months and managed to just score two interviews through LinkedIn recruiters. I’ve tried everything from indeed to zip recruiter and I have a masters in accounting and 1.5 years big4 experience and can’t seem to land anything in industry. I’ve tailored my resume to maximize its impact but still nothing.

I’m seriously considering just leaving accounting for a different field.

How does cross training work?

Say you’re a fresh grad from rad tech school who just passed his ARRT exam. Do you need to find hospitals willing to let you work in the MRI machine and build the skill yourself from on the job training or are there certifications you can take to be certified if the opportunity isn’t available at a hospital. Trying to wrap my head around how different modalities are acquired or is it luck of the draw on who your employer is. The clinical portion of the MRI cross training how does one secure such a position.

Focal dystonia

I have writers cramp in my right hand which forces me to use a trackpad instead of a mouse and a special pen to write. Otherwise my right hand works pretty well. I’m planning on going to radiology technologist school but wanted a reality check if there were people who’ve had some issues with their hands but still manage to do the job.

40M, life is over for me now.

Still living at home at age 40, can’t find a job and I’ve lost all the jobs I’ve had before. Have a masters degree in accounting but I’m not able to get past the interview stage. I don’t have a friend’s circle anymore and I haven’t been in a relationship in more than 4 years. I don’t have any savings, blew all my money away when I earned it when I had work. Have a 100k of student debt.

When I’m at a job I get triggered and end up upsetting the manager some way shape or form who turns against me. Which is how I end up losing the job.

I don’t see a way out, especially at my age, I’m rotting away in the comfort of my parent’s home.

I’ve done therapy, lots of it and I’m on medicine, I’ve even attended a special personality disorder treatment program.

I don’t see a way out of my predicament, not being able to get and actually hold a job won’t allow me to move out and be a grown up and my rejection sensitivity keeps me closed off to new people and I remain isolated because of it.

I can’t hold a job, and I can’t get over my rejection sensitivity these two things have destroyed my life.

Makes me feel like life is not worth living.

Fired after 1.5 years for performance

Fired for low performance 1.5 years into big 4 audit role A2, won’t go into details but the manager was out to sink my career and I struggled to keep up with work demands and had my utility suffer.

I’ve been unemployed for about one month still trying to gather what the hell actually happened.

I don’t have my CPA yet. Trying to figure out what kind of roles should I be aiming for.

So far I’ve narrowed down staff accountant, ap/ar roles. I figure that it’s the best for me to start up in and build my work skills and hammer out any shortfalls.

I don’t think I’m ready for or competitive for internal audit or fund accounting or other fp&a work just yet.

Was hoping doing a stint at staff accountant then get my cpa and try to move to senior accountant later on after a few years.

I’m willing to do ar ap jobs as well if that’s what it takes to get to staff accountant.

The other mid size firms aren’t hiring audit associate with 1.5 years of experience.

Role after big 4 audit

Was let go recently as A2 audit and can’t seem to find roles that would be a good fit. I’ve looked at staff accountant, internal audit, but they all have job descriptions with things that I can’t do. I’ve never done a monthly closing.

Getting desperate to find a job.

SBA loan process

What’s the best way to learn about the SBA loan process for buying a laundromat. I’m looking to put 50-60k down and I’m in the NYC area. I don’t know how I would go about structuring a deal to get approved for an SBA loan. For example what information would I need from a seller to put the loan package together. If anyone has done an SbA loan hope to hear from you.

Is it over, can’t hold employment 39M

39M moved back in and now living at home with parents, had my own apartment recently not too long ago but had to leave it because of losing my job.

I’ve done inpatient and outpatient mental health programs since I’ve suffered from bpd and I’ve seen therapists since 18 and done DBT but still struggle with holding a job, a manager eventually turns on me and ends up firing me.

My rejection sensitivity gets the best of me at work. I have a masters degree in accounting and was working in a high pressure firm in a corporate role, which always end up getting the better of me. I’m unable to respect the title even if I don’t respect the person.

It’s my dream to make the big bucks but it seems like I can’t handle the jobs and politics and rude feedback and negative people you come across.

I’m not sure how I would get to dating if I’m still living with my parents, first finding a job I can keep then having to get an apartment and then thinking about dating.

I’m already 39 years old and if I’m still struggling with rejection sensitivity how does this all play out? I’m feeling very hopeless.

I’m trying to setup some kind of business trust or account that serves as a place where 4 partners deposit money every two weeks to try and build up a down payment for a business.

The goal is that money goes into this trust and each partner can take out their share only in case of emergencies.

Most business checking accounts don’t have these type of internal controls so that one person can’t wipe out the entire account by themselves. Nor do they have the ability to allow each partner to take out just their contribution.

This is a good way to get partners to start saving towards buying a business but I want them to have access to withdraw only their share.
