Rain solutions for the tropics and other already-damp or overly-warm conditions

Hey y'all, I am an expert sewist and love to make custom patterns for my stuff so it's exactly how I want it. I'm planning on making a new raincoat as my current one is disassembling itself and my rain cape has turned sticky inside and is disgusting. I never really use it a lot but I wanted to love it! I'm in the tropics and bike a lot and I love the idea , in theory, of having a rain solution that can go on and off easily. We experience a lot of short rains, it's kind of a joke how often you get out your jacket and need to put it away again five minutes later. This also means that it's common to endure a mild rain and not mind it too much but if the rain gets heavier you'll reluctantly suit up. Putting on a traditional raincoat when you're already damp is kind of the worst?! Is anyone solving this problem in a good way? I just... Suffer.

I'm looking at the MYOG UL raincoat pattern but I feel sweaty just looking at it. I'm considering making mesh panels in the underarms or something, much bigger than a gusset. Having some water come in is ok if it means the other water can get out. Maybe there's some kind of highly vented pattern out there? Or a good rain cape that doesn't turn into a sail?

Topical lymph support

I'm curious if anyone has formulated any topicals that are aimed at helping to clear stagnant lymph. I've never particularly heard of anything being used topically for that but every time I do lymphatic massage on myself or someone else, I wonder.

I'm looking for solutions beyond burdock! It's not my favorite.

Pedantry is Big Evil

I'm so tired y'all

Cannot make one comment on this hellsite without being dog piled by pedantic trolls who know next to nothing about the topic at hand

Being technically correct is the worst kind. Sometimes approximations are fine and one place they are fine is in socializing but this is a hellsite and people are evil

I love hearing my noisy ass neighbors

We used to have this evil granny type neighbor who would call the landlord all the time about everybody and she eventually got kicked out and slowly everyone else felt like they could use the yard again and I both

Love having the yard to myself to do my own evil projects and

Love hearing my neighbors do their weekend stuff out there even tho we can't all do it at once. Fixing the car, mowing the grass, kids running and screaming. Bring it on. Nature is healing and nobody is complaining about each other's annoying ass natural human behaviors.

The burden of hotness I guess

Once I went to live in a cabin in the middle of nowhere to try and get away from people. My friend who was hosting me was chill and not a problem. His girlfriend decided I was *a threat* and kept coming back to my cabin to throw fits and complain. She kept asking me weird questions about if people thought I was "with" him. She eventually asked me to leave because I made her uncomfortable. Joke's on her because they broke up but I stayed welcome there.

That's it it's just a story that yesterday's dumbness reminded me of; I was complaining in here of the burdens of being Woman in Society and people kept blaming me. This time i Literally I went into a cabin in the woods on an island in the middle of nowhere and still someone had a problem with me being hotter than her 🤷

Advance salutations to all because I will not be reading the comments. Hail Satan.

Big ol wheels

Greetings all, I am here for any advice or suggestions from folks on bikes that have

-big/"normal" wheels

&

-can be checked as plane luggage

The wheels because I want this bike to handle as "regular" as possible and be usable as a daily ride while I'm traveling. The dream is to bike away from the airport. I'm assuming nothing with normal wheels would fit in the overhead bin, is there a unicorn?

Considering getting s&s couplers installed on a normal bike, has anyone in here done this? Were you pleased??

What bikes would you suggest? I mostly prefer road style bikes, I mostly cruise asphalt.

Airports are awesome because all these Big Important Men are on Time Sensitive Mission and expect you to be getting out of their way and when you don't they sort of run into you so you can just body check them and keep going

This might only work if you look like a girl and once an Irish man decided to get me back so ya gotta be careful lol

Greetings all! I am planning a visit to the canyon in about two weeks and am getting real serious about packing. I'm trying to get a grip on what the temperature and conditions will be like. How cold is it in the mornings/evenings right now ? How big is the temperature fluctuation from day to night? I can forego a raincoat right? How many jackets do I need? 😩😅 Thanks in advance! I grew up catching the bus in the snow but it's been a long time since I lived like that and I'm really cold sensitive nowadays.
