Applied for a credit card but didn't want it. Wanted another one and got denied.

As the title says, I applied for a credit card earlier today with Wells Fargo and I changed my mind. Unfortunately the application went through so I had to call and cancelled it right away.

I wanted to apply for another card, the costco citi card and tried that a few hours later and I got denied.

Any reason why? Is there a waiting period? Did I screw up?

Need advice on poor tailor interaction

Hello!

I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I've been going to a tailor for less than a year and recently she's been very disappointing with her communication and work. I gave a bunch of sarees to pre stitch for me back during the week of March 15th. I told her I didn't need these items right away and said I would pick up April 24th. Some of the items also were blouses that needed minimal opening/closing.

I texted her the week of back in April and she said she had to go out of town for a family emergency back to the east coast for two weeks. I asked her if anything was done and she didn't give me a straight answer but told me to come pick up.

When I got there nothing was done. None of my sarees were even touched. These are also old vintage sarees that belonged to my late mother so they are very precious to me and should be handled with care. They were just moved from her dining table to the iron board and back to the bags.

I was so mad but contained my emotions. I asked her why did I bother coming and she had a million different excuses ( had to leave suddenly, take care of her two kids, in laws are now in town, catching up on life).

I told her these are all fair reasons but she didn't communicate this to me at all. Had I known she was leaving for a trip i would have gone back to pick up my items. She kept repeating herself and blaming her family and she still has work to finish for other clients from January but I just had it. I told her she pretty much held my items hostage for a month and that's not okay.

I asked her realistically when can she finish and she said May 4th but I went back May 7th because I didn't believe her.

When i picked up my items she was still working on two more sarees and skipped stitching one blouse. I left with my items and told her to send me the bill when she figures it out.

I tried on two sarees and its not the best job but I dont want to go back to her. I have to find someone else now to fix her work.

On top of that her bill is almost $600. She's charging me the full amount. I feel like this isn't fair with all of her delays and poor communication and now, mediocre work.

How can I tell her kindly I dont agree and I'm willing to pay half?

She does her tailor work from home so it's not a real business and takes payment cash or venmo.

I needed these items back in Early May for a bunch of events and it's just been a real headache dealing with this. I have more events in July and August now. Sigh.
