USYNT U17 (2010’s group) loses to Belgium 4-1 today in Spain

Dreary day, US went down 3-0 at halftime and couldn’t recover.
The U20’s are playing today starting at 12:00 ET at the same location, vs Brazil.
Poch more or less revealed some of the players who will make the September squad.
In his press conference he said:
“I think our idea we are going to do a mix of experienced players with young players that can fit together and start to work….Philadelphia have good young players, good kids that maybe we will call a few, New York, yes, Orlando, Nashville, Atlanta. I can keep going, no? But I think yes, we are so excited because I think we can add young kids that can bring the fresh start and you can feel something different."
This means Sullivan, Pierre (maybe), Hall, Mehmeti, Ellis, Schwake, and Sanchez? And more…
Sporting KC acquires US U20 forward ‘07 Ruben Ramos from LA Galaxy
This will be a good opportunity for Ruben to get some regular minutes. Like all these other youth players making moves, Ruben has hardly gotten any minutes for LA Galaxy. He’s been very productive though playing for country, from U15 all the way thru U20.
Middlesbrough vs Burnley (3pm ET, (Paramount+, CBS Sports Golazo). Berhalter and Morris starting, Arfsten and Pukštas on the bench
Boegert: Rapids agree to sign Morgan Whitaker- winger from Middlesbrough for a club record fee. DP- 25 years old.
reddit.com20 year old CB Elijah Scott makes the bench for Serie A U.S. Lecce
Dual nat for both USA and Germany. Played for both, more recently for the US U20’s.
In this game 19 year old GK Giorgio De Marzi is on the bench for Roma, probably for at least the 40th time.
Diego Kochen saves and moments, Lyngby vs OB 08/30/2026

Pretty big game for Diego, 8.6 on Fotmob. Maybe could have done better on that last goal in the final moments.
Chicago Fire loan U20 USYNT 18 year old CB Christopher Cupps to Greenock Morton (Scotland Second Division)
Seems like a disappointing landing spot, but Christopher spending game after game on the bench wasn’t helping things. Let’s hope the 18 year old can start a bunch of games and come back with a vengeance.
ASN: Two years from LA2028, what could a U.S. Olympic team look like?
americansoccernow.com[Bogert] Real Salt Lake finalizing deal to sign USYNT U20 midfielder Colin Guske on loan from Orlando City
Orlando moving yet another talented youngster to another team to see if they can get more playing time. Not playing enough for Orlando. Guske recently played at the Concacaf U20 Championships, was excellent on the team. Did really well as mostly a passing deep-lying midfielder. One of the better ‘07 prospects for the US.

Lyngby held top of the table FC Midtjylland to a draw 1-1 and knocking them out of first.
Marcus Chairez – U20 USYNT 2026 Concacaf Championship tournament recap
Nice article. I think I blocked out all the idiots from yesterday, so hopefully this will be a peaceful thread.
U20 vs Mexico for the Concacaf U20 Championship (7pm ET, FS2)
5th consecutive appearance in the Final since 2017.
On paper Mexico should be favored as they have brought their A team to the tournament. The US brought a C team where most of their highly rated players were not released, probably around 30 players. Plus 2 of their highest rated players Nimfasha Berchimas went down with an injury while being hacked in the El Salvador game, and Christopher Cupps was recalled back to the Chicago Fire after the Guatemala match to sit on the bench as depth as the 4th CB. Way to go GGG.
However, the US, with a few exceptions, has looked quite good this entire tournament and has been dominant with their ball possession and offensive ability. I look for a close game today. I almost feel like they took a page out of the Poch playbook so far. Compare this with the last time these 2 met in the U20 championship 2 years ago - the US played not to lose and scared and ultimately lost as time ran out. There have been some revelations in this tournament - #7 Jaidyn Contreras (FC Dallas) has looked really good this whole tournament. #9 Din Klapija (RB Leipzig) has been dangerous and he should be rested for today’s game. #4 Chris Applewhite (Nashville) has been the captain and has been a force with his defensive and passing abilities. I also think that #17 Ruben Ramos (LAG) and #18 Xanti Oyharçabal (Bilbao) have been solid and in Xanti’s case, the most technically sound player on the team.
Zalgiris 1-5 Hajduk Split - Rokas Pukstas solo goal 75'
FYI
The U20 team takes on Guatemala tonight in the Concacaf U20 Quarterfinals. (9PM ET, FS2, VIX). This is the big one - the US earns a spot in the U20 World Cup as well as a spot in the 2027 Pan Am Games with a win tonight.
The US has won their 3 Group Stage matches (Haiti, El Salvador and Cuba) by a combined 11-0 aggregate. Guatemala ones in with a record of 1 win 2 losses. The 2 losses were 1-0 vs Costa Rica and 4-0 vs Mexico.
The US and Guatemala U20’s played 2 years ago, also in the 2024 tournament Quarterfinals, and the US eked out a 1-0 win. Adam Beaudry saved a PK near the end of the game to preserve the victory. The Guatemala team had a strong group that year, buoyed by 3 players from the US good enough to actually play for the US, Olger Escobar, Matthew Evans and DeCarlo Guerra. This year, the Guatemala team is nowhere as strong. Guerra was eligible to play in this tournament, but opted not to play, wanting only to play on the senior roster.
Match Day - USYNT U20 vs Cuba (10PM ET/7PM PT) on FS1 (note the channel change)
The US will be looking to finish out Group play with a perfect record and go for the #1 overall seed heading into the knockout rounds. Mexico has finished group play with 3 wins and a goal difference of 9. US is currently at 6 after 2 games.
