I very much enjoyed this game. Took me about 25 hours to platinum and didn’t have to use any guides aside from a couple trophies. Good story, awesome combat, fun exploration. The only real downside is you have to run the same dungeons and bosses A LOT if you want the true ending/platinum. Still an 8.5/10 imo.

Do any places in Sandwich/Cotuit/Mashpee serve hot non-breakfast food before 11am?

Due to my work schedule, I’m usually up by 4am. I usually eat a light breakfast (fruit, maybe a bagel) but by 9/10am I’m usually craving a hot lunch. A sandwich, pizza, something fried, etc.

However it seems like EVERYTHING starts serving lunch at 11 and most places I would go to, aren’t even open until then.

I know you can get cold premade sandwiches at Stop and Shop and other places but those are usually day(s) old when I get them in the morning.

Does anywhere serve hot, fresh lunch food before 11? I don’t even care if it’s fast food but Wendy’s, Subway and Dominos are the only ones that I’m near and they don’t even start/open until 1030. Actually subway will usually make a lunch sub but I’ve had some poor results from the few times I ordered them in the morning.

Everywhere else is all breakfast sandwiches, pastries, etc. I enjoy those at times too but I’m already sick of resorting to a BEC when I want a slice of pizza.

Anyone know of any hidden gems where I can order a burger, burrito, ANYTHING other than breakfast food?

Thanks for any suggestions/recommendations!

Am I crazy or is Adventures of Elliot way better than Mina the Hollower?

I just finished the demo of Adventures of Elliot and absolutely loved it. Obviously it’s not released yet, so we don’t know what the reviews will look like but it was incredible.

I bought Mina the other day because I saw all the great reviews and people saying it’s the best game of the year, etc. It was only $20 so whatever.

I’m only a few hours in… and it’s good but I really don’t see how it’s “one of the best reviewed games of the year”.

It’s basically a very polished Zelda GBC game. I get that. And I understand that was what the devs intended to make. I haven’t finished it so I can’t give a full review but as of now I’d give it like a 7/10. Which is great from an indie developed game.

Adventures of Elliot is better in just about every single way. It still has the classic feel of a 2D Zelda game but has a bunch of added RPG elements that I love. The graphics, music, combat, progression, exploration, story are all WAY superior to Mina. And all I’ve done is played the demo. But it also looks and feels better too. Honestly if Nintendo made the same game but put Link as the main character, reviewers would be creaming their pants.

Now I’m not saying Mina is a bad game. I’m going to keep playing it and I’m enjoying it. But I have seen countless posts about how great it is while I have seen practically nothing about Elliot. That may change once the full game releases but I still find it odd.

I guess we’ll see what happens eventually but if you like the old Zelda games, go play the demo of Adventures of Elliot. Can’t recommend it enough.

Cyclists/joggers/dog walkers - why do you insist on using busy roads? Especially ones without sidewalks?

I moved back to the Cape last year and I forgot how incredibly annoying and dangerous this is, yet I see it on a regular basis. I don’t understand the logic behind it. Probably going to turn into a rant but I’m not going to try and tell you what you can or can’t do but I hope that you are concerned with your own safety and at the least be considerate to everyone else on the road.

Just the other day, I was waiting to cross 28 at a busy intersection that doesn’t have a traffic light and a cyclist held up all four lanes of traffic (at about 845am on a weekday) just so he could cross. He was inching his way into the road and holding out his hands telling cars to stop. In the process, nearly caused two accidents. One car didn’t see him crossing and had to stop suddenly and then after he crossed, two trucks saw this as an opportunity to quickly turn down the same road… at the same time. Stupid drivers, yes, but also none of that happens if Lance Armstrong doesn’t block the whole intersection. If he went one street over, he could’ve at least used a traffic light.

I get it, cyclists ride for miles and don’t want to just loop around the neighborhood 40 times but you should at least plan out your route so you aren’t causing a major inconvenience for all of the drivers on the road. Also, aren’t you worried about your safety? I saw two people on a tandem bike awkwardly riding down 28 a couple weeks ago as cars and trucks just flew by them at 40-50 mph. How is that enjoyable? All it takes is one guy looking at his phone and you’re probably not surviving that collision. I get that tourists don’t know any better (I’ve seen FAMILIES riding bikes down 6A in the summer) but residents, even seasonal ones should know better.

Joggers and dog walkers make even less sense to me. I live in Sandwich and I’ll see both on dangerous roads like Pimlico and Great Hill Road, etc. Why are you putting yourself and your dog in danger like that? If your logic is something like, “I live on that road, I’m not going to drive somewhere just to go for a run” my answer to that is why? I have a dog that I walk daily. I can take him in my neighborhood safely, and I do, but if I want to take him on a long walk I’ll put him in my car and go to one of the many trails/conservation lands/beaches nearby. I’m not going to start walking him on main roads just to get my steps in. My friend’s dad and dog died years ago doing this exact thing. He was walking early in the morning and someone wasn’t paying attention and hit and killed them. It was an accident but still, I don’t know why you’d want to be in that situation in the first place.

I just simply don’t understand why people do this. The traffic and roads are congested enough as it is, you don’t need to add to that just because you and your buddy want to go for a bike ride. Your dog shouldn’t need to hug the edge of the road as impatient drivers whizz by. You can LITERALLY jog anywhere, it doesn’t have to be on a windy road with no sidewalks.

I know some people are going to comment with “share the road”, “I’ve live here 30 years, not going to change now”, “drivers are the real problem”, etc. Great. This post is for you. Be safe and considerate, that’s all I’m asking.
