First time was so nice, let's do it twic-

Ferrari seems like thought same trick would work second time, but:

  1. 2-3x times lower tyre degradation

  2. Car having absolutely 0 pace due to lack of power and rear end limited track.

Went from 2nd fastest to 4th fastest with engine upgrade is the most Ferrari thing to happen. Also add turbo issues for leclerc on formation lap.

Hey, at least Charles finally finished a race

Could Mercedes's reliability issues be explained by too long battles between teammates?

In both cases kimi and george spent way too much time behind each other, and in the end both cars got their batteries overheated(maybe because of dirty air).

SF-26 in Mexico

This is SF-25 in Mexico last year.

And i just suddenly got a question asking myself. You all know that Mexico has high altitude, that's why air is thinner, teams bring biggest RWs, and at the same time they need more cooling. Look at these big cooling vents.

Now look at SF-26 in Barcelona. High temperatures, and yet no cooling vents. That is most likely explained by their engine concept, which is called "hot" engine. They use steel alloy material for cylinder head, which is helping team use the least amount of cooling vents(or even not use them at all) among all other teams.

​

So, question: does that mean that Ferrari in Mexico this year will also have that kind of big advantage over others? Because more cooling vents-->more drag

Charles uses sim, while Lewis doesn't. In the end Lewis uses Charles's setup. Conclusion: Ferrari's simulator is fine. And while Lewis was away in motorhome, Ferrari opted Charles's setup on his car

Also understand that if Ferrari's simulator was rubbish, that'd mean that correlation is horrible, when in reality it isn't, as Ferrari's upgrades in Barcelona were super effective, and in the end Charles's setup worked perfectly fine for Lewis too. That's actually good for Ferrari, if one setup works perfectly fine for both drivers. And now they even use one type of brake disks. They are in one boat

Lewis in general didn't use any simulator until 2021, when he had to fight Max

This is the best package Ferrari has brought in years, i must say

EVEN without upgraded engjne Lewis was so close to pole with this package. I can't believe that Ferrari upgrades actually provided big step forward

Lewis only 0.064 seconds behind pole lap on power demanding track even without aduo. Ferrari upgrades worked really well

Even if Lewis didn't get pole, i expected Ferrari to be on nd or 3rd row. Well done Lewis!

And about Leclerc: You can't be doing such mistakes man, you just can't, when Ferrari finally nails the upgrades and brings a competitve car. You just made your life harder. But he can claw back tomorrow easily with red bulls and audis having usually horrible starts.

2026 Barcelona GP situation reminds me of 2020 70th anniversary GP

Remember back in 2020 pirelli did exactly same thing--> they brought C2-C3-C4 to 2nd race in Silverstone(track which literally eats tyres as much as the track in Barcelona). Tyres were degrading a lot, and same happened yesterday.

Pirelli decreased tyre pressure, which will allow drivers to have better grip and lap times in qualifying, but tyre wear may be even higher now. There's a chance we might see not just 2 but 3 stops. Berra even called C4-C3 "single lap tyres"
