Beach Club Recommendations

Apart from Soho House, what are some beach clubs or hotels that offer memberships that aren’t exorbitantly priced?

Really just looking for somewhere that has beach chairs and bathrooms, and allows children. Would be great to know costs as well!

Eufy S2 with Insurance?

Has anyone managed to find the Eufy S2 somewhere that allows you to purchase through insurance? Not seeing it listed on Aeroflow or Babylist Health.

If not, do you think the S2 is worth it out of pocket, rather than the S1 with insurance? I already have the spectra.

New Insurance Month Before Giving Birth

My company is changing insurance providers about a month before I am set to deliver. What things should I do to maximize benefits before switching insurances (both general and specific to pregnancy/delivery/postpartum)?

- My OB and delivering hospital both take the new insurance
- I already ordered a breast pump
- My current coverage (Cigna) is AMAZING and I anticipate coverage being worse after the switch
- My current coverage covers lactation support, which I assume I can’t take much advantage of

Oxford Freedom v Anthem BCBS PPO Gold Plan

My company’s insurance provider is changing to Oxford Freedom, and I need to decide whether to make the change or move over to my husband’s company’s insurance (Anthem BCBS PPO Gold Plan).

In case relevant, the change is happening July 1, and I’m due about a month later. If I stick with Oxford, question will also be which one should baby be added to.

Which insurance would you choose and why?

Eufy Sock

The Eufy sock seems unavailable everywhere it was previously sold online. Does anyone know if it was pulled from the market, recalled or something like that?

We’re getting the Cradlewise, which we hear isn’t compatible with the Owlet. We can buy a Eufy sock on FB marketplace if it’s just temporarily unavailable online, but don’t want to if it was intentionally pulled from sale for safety reasons or something like that.

Birth Prep (Classes + Physical Prep)

How are folks navigating birth prep classes and other birth prep things (pelvic floor therapy, pre-labor exercise) with IC / a cerclage?

Against my dr’s rec, I put myself on modified bed rest. In terms of birth prep, I don’t want to do anything that could negatively impact my cervix so I haven’t done anything at all, but I’m realizing there may be safe things I can do to get a little more prepared for labor. Thinking online birth prep classes, but would love others’ thoughts on additional things I could be doing.

I know there’s been other posts about this, but would still love others’ thoughts. I got an emergency Shirodkar cerclage placed at 20 weeks, with less than a cm of cervix left. I’m now 26 weeks and my length is 2.9 cm (down from 3.3 at its highest post cerclage).

We had written off the idea of having a baby shower when we found out about the cervical incompetence but are now rethinking whether we can do one. We were planning for one at 32.5 weeks but found out that my two sister in laws (we don’t have other siblings and are very close with the SILs) and one of my closest 4 friends wouldn’t be available that weekend, but could join the weekend we would be 34.5 weeks.

What would you do in this situation? Would especially love input from women who previously had an emergency cerclage - did you go into labor before 34 weeks? Even if you didn’t go into labor, were you much more physically uncomfortable at 34.5 v 32.5 weeks? I recognize the privilege of even thinking about having a shower, and also recognize I could very well go into labor any day, but am trying to stay optimistic and maybe have a day of experiencing pure celebration in an otherwise very stressful pregnancy!
