How is Emperor Augustin de Iturbide viewed in Mexico today?
Modern liberal discourse in Mexico seems to view him negatively but I’m curious to hear the opinions of the average Mexican

I have a ‘00 S10 Xtreme 2.2 and I’m thinking about replacing the stock box on it because it’s old and cracked. Been looking into getting a K&N brand with a box instead of a open heat shield
This build was inspired by a few of my favorite builds by Fudgemuppet (The Spectre, The puppet master & the battle mage). This is a modded playthrough
Couple mods I used: Life of Crime mod & East Empire Expansion, Live Another life
His back story:
Xi’ra ( The best Argonian sounding name I could come up with) begins as a nobody. He arrives in Skyrim with nothing. He arrives in Skyrim and finds work on the docks of Windhelm, one of the harshest places in the province for an Argonian. He is poor, unknown, and lacks any powerful family, noble title, or guild backing.
Whether Xi’ra was born in Black Marsh itself or among the Argonian communities of Morrowind is something he rarely discusses. What matters is that he came to Skyrim seeking opportunity, only to find himself unloading cargo and surviving from one day to the next.
His pale scales give him an almost ghostly appearance, making him stand out even among other Argonians. Despite this, he keeps a low profile. Most Nords barely notice him, and that is exactly how he prefers it.
The docks expose Xi’ra to Skyrim’s underworld. Smugglers, thieves, sailors, merchants, mercenaries, and East Empire Company officials all pass through Windhelm’s harbor. While others spend their wages on drink, Xi’ra watches and listens.
He observes everything from, Shipping routes, Merchant dealings, Sailor gossip, Smuggling operations, Imperials, Stormcloaks & East Empire Company business
He speaks little but learns much.
Long before arriving in Skyrim, Xi’ra had shown a natural talent for Illusion and Conjuration magic. On the docks he continues refining those skills in secret. Late at night, away from curious eyes, he practices spells such as Muffle, Fear, Frenzy, Invisibility, and Bound Daggers.
Xi’ra reads whenever he can. Books on history, magic, philosophy, trade, and ancient civilizations become his escape from the harsh reality of dock work
To supplement his meager income, Xi’ra occasionally participates in small-scale theft, smuggling, and skooma dealing. He is careful, patient, and never ambitious enough to attract serious attention. Survival comes first.
Everything changes when he begins looking for work beyond the docks.
His search leads him to the East Empire Company and an investigation into pirate attacks disrupting northern trade routes( Rise of the East mission) What begins as a simple opportunity for extra coin eventually draws him into the events of the expedition, where Xi’ra receives his first real taste of adventure, danger, and the larger forces shaping Skyrim.
For the first time since arriving in the province, he sees a path forward that does not end on the docks of Windhelm.
Xi’ra joins the expedition alongside sailors, mercenaries, and Imperial-aligned forces. He is not sent alone, nor is he considered a hero. To most of the men around him, he is simply another hired hand seeking coin.
The battle proves far more difficult than he expected.
The island is shrouded in unnatural fog, and pirate resistance is fierce. Xi’ra attempts to use stealth and illusion magic to move through enemy positions, but his skills are still unrefined. More than once he is discovered and forced into open combat. Bound daggers appear in his hands as fighting erupts around him. Frenzy spells turn enemies against one another, while Fear creates moments of confusion that allow him to survive encounters he should have lost.
Fighting alongside the assault force, Xi’ra gradually pushes deeper into the island until he reaches the pirate stronghold itself. There he confronts Haldyn, a powerful battlemage whose magic controls the fog surrounding Japhet’s Folly.
The duel is the hardest fight of Xi’ra’s life.
The battlemages mastery of shock magic nearly kills him. Several times Xi’ra is forced onto the defensive, relying on quick thinking, illusion magic, and sheer determination to stay alive. In the end, he manages to close the distance and kill the mage, breaking the spell that concealed the island.
As the fog dissipates, East Empire Company ships finally gain a clear view of the pirate defenses.
The bombardment begins almost immediately.
It rain destruction upon the stronghold while the remaining pirates scatter in panic. Xi’ra barely escapes the collapsing ruins, surviving by little more than luck and instinct.
When he finally returns to Windhelm, he carries more than coin and battlefield spoils. He returns with confidence.
For the first time, Xi’ra has proven to himself that he is capable of more than unloading cargo on a frozen dock. He has fought beside Imperial forces, survived a military operation, defeated a powerful mage, and lived through a battle that should have killed him.
The experience changes him.
What began as a search for extra work becomes the first step toward a far greater ambition. The world suddenly feels larger than Windhelm, and Xi’ra begins to believe that power, influence, and adventure might truly be within his reach
Haven’t decided on which one to join yet

Two of the biggest foul-ups of the post Civil War era imo was the backroom deal that abandoned
Reconstruction and the fact that the South was never truly punished for their treason
But they were let off the hook
I remember seeing all sorts of cool stuff about the game on instagram a few years ago and was excited about it but the developers never launched the game and went silent on socials
I hate having roommates, I’ve been roommates with a couple friends from high school for about 3 years now and I’m ready for change. We share one bathroom and the house is always messy, everybody takes days to clean up after themselves do their dishes.
One of them is super stingy about sharing his things and blows a fuse whenever he something bothers him in any way. I’m starting to resent them. Our personalities are too different and we don’t communicate well, it be awkward too sometimes because sometimes I wanna. chill and isolate but they trap me in conversations and make small talk with me but get offended when I don’t care.
Tryna not to ramble too long but it’s a point now where I’m tryna avoid seeing anyone at home and make excuses to leave the house but it’s starting to get expensive, I can’t afford to be on my own and I refuse to go back to my parents house (estranged family). My landlord is chill and gives us grace when it comes to rent so that’s why I’ve been here for so long
There’s absolutely nothing now and it’s makes me sad, can’t even go back and look at my masterpieces anymore
Been doing some digging into the Freemasons in early America and their relationships with politics at the time. Stumbled across the fact that Mexican General Santa Anna was a Freemason along with other notable Mexican figures.
Came to find out the Sam Houston was also a Freemason! Maybe I’m looking too much into it but it is interesting to learn about that given that the Catholic Church is against Freemasonry and well you know that Mexico is a very Catholic country. Was wondering what is there to know about the Generals relationship with the Freemasons at the time within the political landscape
Edit: Title typo
