Official comment cards for the fiscal year 2027 are out. The city will be accepting comment cards until the 14th of August

The link to the official comment card is near the top of the page under “Share Your Feedback”. Select the blue rectangle that says: “The Digital Comment Card Closes End of Business Day on Friday, August 14th, 2026” This will take you to the card.

If you don’t want to see a cut in library services, please consider filling out the form the Long Beach Public Library Foundation has put together. Here is the link:

The petition is easy to fill out, and the page gives other info on how to take action.

Also try contacting your council member directly. The more pushback they get the better. If you don’t know your council member, here is a tool to find them. Just type in your address and select “local” on the left-hand tab:

Here are the official email addresses and official phone numbers of each representative. Your message can consist of a single sentence.

“Dear (Council Member’s name),
I live in your district ask that you please not support any cuts to the library budget or services.
Sincerely,
(Your name)”

Do this with any other city service or department you feel passionately about.
