2028 Pontiac GTO "The Judge" Concept

Still very much a work in progress, but the goal with this modern GTO “The Judge” concept is to make it feel like a genuine evolution of the ’69 rather than just putting retro badges on a modern car. I’ve been trying to carry over some of the less obvious visual DNA too: front fender curve, the A- and B-pillar shape, the rake of the windshield, the long hood/short-deck proportions, and especially the horizontal character of the taillights...while pushing everything into a much more futuristic direction.

Underneath it is a 6.2L supercharged V8 + electric front axle, 870 hp combined, 790 lb-ft, AWD, 8-speed DCT, estimated ~3,900 lbs, and a claimed 0–60 in 2.8 seconds. Basically, I’m trying to imagine what Pontiac might have built if the ’69 Judge had a competent engineering team and corporate resources behind it.

Still tweaking proportions, details, and aero, but I’m getting closer to the look I have in my head.

One owner. Well maintained. 340,000 miles. Runs great. $OBO, will trade for water.

The buildings fell. The trees came up through the road. Every other vehicle on the block rusted into the dirt. And the Camry just sat there, faded and leaf-covered, sign still in the window, still insisting it runs great. Because of course it does. The roaches and the Toyotas inherited the earth, and only one of them is for sale. Grand Rapids, Michigan, some years after it all went sideways. Priced to move. No low ball offers, I know what I've got.

Subaru Brat Technical

I loved the Subaru BRAT as a kid. With all the warring going on lately, I got to wondering what an alternate history would look like if the BRAT, and not the Toyota HiLux, had become the technical of choice on the world stage. And so, presented with humour and a straight face, I give you the "Subaru BRAT Technical": Special Operations Vehicle 13-A, catalogued and roped off in the Museum of Unconventional Warfare, provenance Polaroid included. The placard notes that the bullet impacts are simulated, to preserve artifact integrity. Nobody built this. The museum simply took it too seriously, and so did I.

Tiangong T1 Explorer: a Chinese electric overland concept

This is a made-up vehicle. The Tiangong T1 Explorer, an all-terrain electric overlander, worked up from a rough idea into a complete brand package. There is a bilingual spec brochure with the four-view layout and interior shots, a three-panel showroom set, and a mock TopGear cover to tie it together. The numbers are meant to hold up rather than just look impressive. It runs a 90kWh battery with a range extender, 320kW, tank turn, air suspension, the usual overland kit bolted to every flat surface. The design owes an obvious debt to the current wave of angular EV trucks, Cybertruck and Rivian and the new Defender among them, which is rather the point. It is what a Chinese startup concept in this segment tends to look like right now. I spent as much time getting the Mandarin and the spec sheet to reconcile as I did on the metal, because a fake that falls apart on a second look is not worth posting. Have at it.

What do my last 10 years of car ownership say about me?

I currently own the Crosstrek Wilderness and the GR Corolla.

Note: Using stock photos from online to represent the actual cars and colors that I have owned over the 10 years.

Acrisure and Sarah McLachlan tonight - smoke?

I've not seen any update on status for this but see air quality is at 441 this morning and labeled hazardous. Forecast looks like not much of a change and will be Very Unhealthy if the stars and moon align.

Has anyone heard anything about tonight's Acrisure show?

Also curious, what happened with the FMG outdoor music yesterday? How was that handled?

What's the dumbest way you've died?

Running through my first HM run and I didn't check the distance for a ranged shot and the game mechanics ran me into the lava fighting the lava elemental. Game over.

Holy cow (pun intended), just ate there for the first time. Wife and I both ordered the gnarly burger and fries. It was exceptional. So darn good, and reasonably priced. Great service too. I love me a Station Burger, and it is what I judge others by. The gnarly burger is two thin smash burgers stacked on a toasted bun with bacon, fresh pickles, cheese, and sauce, and great flavor. I honestly would put it up there as a tie. Different burgers -- the Station is thicker and juicier single patty with more peppery flavor, but the gnarly burger is no slouch. If you like to eat, it is definitely worth the drive.
