What is the diagnosis process like? (UK)

I'm like very certain that I have ARFID. I meet the criteria. However I'm really quite scared to talk to my GP about it. I've had some negative experiences with my GP before involving them being quite dismissive of my concerns about my health so I'm just a bit nervous. So I kinda just want to ask how long the process takes and what it involves? I imagine it is probably different per county or even per GP but I thought I'd just ask to get a time scale or how emotionally demanding it is.

For a while I didnt see the point in going for a diagnosis because I didnt really understand how/why it would benefit me. But now my eating is getting more restricted and I clearly am not having enough vitamins or calories in me because I feel shit all the time. I dont really know what support they'd give but I feel like it's worth a shot at this point to stop feeling horrible and week on a daily basis.

Thanks gang!! :D

Tomodachi Life Living the Dream Wishes Crash (ryujinx)

My tomodachi life living the dream crashes every time I claim wishes. Is there any fix for this? I use Ryujinx fyi. It also occasionally crashes from mii news to however that isn't consistent and will also just crash at random times too. I have like 50 wishes to claim now so if there is a fix that would be great!

Negative GP experience (UK)

Okay so I have just come back from the GP where I spoke about seeking a Tourette's diagnosis and the concerns I have with my tics. I originally went to the GP in either 2021 or 2022 when my tics got more noticeable. I got referred to a paediatrician then and it got put down to "teenage tics" and that I would grow out of it... it's been 5 years, I still have them and I am almost 20 so I thought now would be a good time to go back to the GP. I do also believe I have had tics from a young child, however I have no evidence of this as it wasn't very noticeable and nothing was done about it at the time (I believe I had an eye rolling tic). However, this was NOT a good experience and I basically felt invalidated the whole time. Here's what happened:

-Didn't listen to the fact I wanted a referal and kept blaming my tics on "childhood trauma (my mum dying at the age of 9) and mental health". I told her that I would still like a referall or further investigation even if she did not think I had tourettes and she didn't deem that necessary. (I also wanted a further investigation to rule out any serious stuff like huntingtons or brain tumuors). I mentioned the fact I think I had tics as a younger child which occured BEFORE my mum died but continued to blame it on that.

-She also blamed it on autism and kept confusing the terms stimming and tics which was weird. She referred to tics as "self-soothing" techniques which is litterally what stimming is...

-She compared me to her other patients. She litterally told me that she has other patients with worse tics than me so she dosen't think my concern is necessary. She told me that she mentioned that in order to make me feel better... I don't understand???

-It felt like she was belittiling me the whole time. As soon as she realised I was on the wait list for an autism diagnosis she started all her sentences with "if I were you" or "if I was in your shoes" and it felt like she didn't think I could make my own decisions because I was autistic.

-She told me that my "tics arent that bad". They aren't that bad but I reitterated that today was a good tic day... she didn't seem interested in that. I even told her that I had a recording on my phone of me ticcing if she wanted to see it, she also didn't seem interested in that either.

-Leading on from that... she told me I don't even meet the criteria for tourettes??? That really confused me because I have had tics for at least 6 years and I have lots of types of tics (both motor & vocal). I even provided her with a timeline of the progression of my tics that I wrote down before hand in preperation.

Anyways I have never felt so ignored or belittled in my life. Yes there is a chance I do not have tourettes, that's not what I'm upset at. I'm fustraited that I did not get listened to and she just blamed everything on my mental health instead. She did not listen to my concerns at all and I just feel quite invalidated now. I tried to fight it but I got so tired and I could tell she was never going to go forward into looking into a diagnosis so i lowkey just gave up. (I am not going to name and shame this doctor, but I am deffo going to put in a complaint).

I am sharing this as a rant but also to hear if anyone else has had negative experiences with GPs regarding a tourettes diagnosis and how you dealt with it.
