California resident with a New Jersey LLC — did I create a tax headache?

I’m new to Amazon FBA and still learning the tax/business side. I live in California and run everything from here, but I formed my single-member LLC in New Jersey because I have ties there and assumed an online business could be registered in basically any state.

Did I accidentally create tax and filing obligations in both states? Would I need to register my NJ LLC as a foreign LLC in California and pay fees in both states?

Also, do you guys use a local CPA or an accountant who specializes in Amazon FBA/e-commerce? If anyone has dealt with this exact setup, I’d appreciate hearing what you did.

$70K to Invest: AUR, KEEL, or ONDS—which has the most upside?

I have about $70k in risk capital that I can afford to be aggressive with, and I’m considering building a position in AUR, KEEL, or ONDS.

I’m looking for the strongest long-term upside—not just whichever stock is getting the most hype right now. Which company has the best combination of technology, market opportunity, execution, and potential to become a legitimate multibagger?

Would you put the money into one, divide it among all three, or avoid them entirely? I’d especially like to hear the bear case for each one.

If you know of any other overlooked beauties with serious upside, drop them below and explain the thesis.

Hired a freelancer/team to build and manage my Amazon FBA business — what should I realistically expect?

I recently hired a freelance team to help start and operate an Amazon FBA business for me. They’re supposed to handle most of the process, including product research, sourcing, listings, launch strategy, PPC, and ongoing account management. I’ll still own the Seller Central account, fund the inventory and advertising, and have final approval over everything.

They’ve told me the business could potentially grow into something substantial over the next 12–18 months, but I’m trying to keep my expectations realistic. I understand that revenue is not the same as profit and that there are no guarantees.

For anyone who has outsourced most of their FBA operation:

How involved did you still need to be?

How long did it take before you became profitable?

What profit margins did you actually see after Amazon fees, ads, returns, storage and freelancer fees?

What reports or account access should I require from the team?

What are the biggest red flags with an outsourced FBA business?

Did outsourcing work out for you, or did you eventually take the operation back over yourself?

I’m not looking for overnight-rich promises. I’m mainly trying to understand what a realistic first year looks like and how to protect myself while giving the team a fair chance.

Looking for someone who’s built a successful Shopify brand (happy to pay for your time)

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for someone who’s actually built a successful Shopify brand and would be willing to mentor or coach me.
I’m not interested in buying another generic course or watching hours of YouTube videos. I’d rather learn directly from someone who’s already done it.

I’m happy to pay for your time if you have real experience building a profitable Shopify business.

A little about me:
Starting from scratch.
Serious about building a long-term brand.
Willing to put in the work.

Looking for honest guidance and accountability, not shortcuts.

If you’ve built a successful Shopify business and are open to mentoring or consulting, please comment below or send me a DM. I’d love to hear your story and see if we’d be a good fit.

Thanks everyone—I really appreciate it.

Launching in 7 days - what should i realistically expect?

Hey everyone,

I’m about 7 days away from launching my first private label product on Amazon, and I’m excited but also pretty nervous.

I hired someone through Upwork to help me with product research, sourcing, listing optimization, and getting everything ready for launch. Now we’re almost ready to go live, and I’m wondering what I should realistically expect during the first few weeks.

A few questions:
How long did it take you to get your first sale?
Is it normal to go a few days without any orders?
What metrics should I be watching the closest?
Any mistakes you wish you would’ve avoided during launch?

I’ll be running PPC from day one and have inventory ready.
I’ve spent a lot of time (and money) getting to this point, so I’d love to hear any advice or words of encouragement from people who’ve been through their first launch.

Thanks
