lol Ezra’s answer on the Chris Ruffo pushback from fans question was such word salad and academia speak it made no sense.

At first he alluded to not pushing back hard enough was due to time constraints and then when claire called out it was over 2 hours he completely pivot to the typical “this isn’t a podcast where I tell ppl how to think”.

Nobody was asking to be told how to think, but a bit of honesty and challenging your guests especially if they have been a massive propagandist that help accelerate this past decade of far right fascist tendencies.

Look, Ezra is super successful and has a massive following and he clearly knows what he is doing to get attention and stay relevant.

Weather he wants to admit it consciously or not, but having guests like Rufo on is a sure fire way to garner attention and make that podcast episode talked about by a large swath of the population, case in point.

To have more episodes like that is to not make the guest super uncomfortable or ppl like rufo to not want to come in the future.

It’s disingenuous to say it was because of some higher, philosophical/academic free speech virtue of why he just let ruffo spread propaganda with very mild push back.

The Platner campaign announced they had their best fundraising day since Mills dropped out (raised over $200k yesterday)

Doesn’t look like Mainers and democrats are running away from Platner in fact the opposite

Being a "Big Tent Party" and wanting democratic politicians to be real "authentic" ppl who are not bred directly from the DNCs wombs, means these ppl will have baggage and skeletons in their closet. The past decade the american electorate has reward authenticity over a perfect candidate.

Before everyone comes in and attacks me saying Im excuses for Platner, no, Im saying if we want "normal" ppl to run for office who was not born out of the DNC or has been a politician their entire life, then yes, theyre gonna have unvetted "baggage" previous bad behavior and have gone through periods in their life where they may have not been a good person.

Is that a downside for the american electorate or seen as authentic? I genuinely dont know, but if we want more housing, healthcare for all, disarming Israel, no more wars, taking care of our middle class and folks who are living in poverty, then THIS IS THE CHOICE WE HAVE TO MAKE.

Either do another Self-cannibalism to a member in our party who seems to be the democratic nominee and still potentially lose, or say fuck it, "Graham, isnt perfect, but he is apart of our tent and if the voters are behind im behind him".

Lastly, eating our own from Al Franken to pushing ppl out of the tent has not worked out the last decade, maybe we try a different approach?

Lots of confusion around if Platner denied the accusations, specifically getting physical, and sharing his response here a few minutes ago from his interview with Chris Hayes

Can the mods allow more freedom to have discussions in here without removing every single post? This subreddit has been dead since the new rules and enforcement. (They just removed the Graham Platner post about SA allegations coming).

Wish there was more freedom to discuss. No one uses or engages in the weekly reddit thread. Should I just post in the bulwark now since the convos are better over there?

Something I can’t square in my head is how the new and some of the most famous atheists (Maher and Harris) can claim they are both “atheists” and also defend Israel based on biblical grounds lol

Is this not contradictory all around lol? How do they go from being so smug in the 10’s about atheism while they looked down on folks believing in some religion/gods to literally becoming obsessed with Israel and its “rights” to the land stated in the bible

LOL look at my opposition party dawg. Just handing Trump and maga more power on a silver plate

Fuck Jared polis. These establishment democrats will sell us and our democracy out.

Does anyone really think a republican would provide this grace to a Democrat? Tina Peters is going to be on Fox News the moment she gets out using the clemency as proof “she was targeted and unfairly prosecuted”

11 years in and this stupid party still acts like it’s 2012, meanwhile maga and Trump plunder every institution and norms.

Btw, she wasn’t prosecuted for having “strange beliefs”. She was prosecuted because she let Mike Lindell have access to her voter rolls and leaked the voting records to her allies.

Like what are we doing here?

Listening to Sarah and Scott Galloway on Raging Moderates

First off, I both like Sarah and Scott. I dont agree with them on everything, especially Scott's Israel takes. They had an interesting conversation on raging moderates, but one thing that really frustrated me was when they both were agreeing that there is no way we can elect a "Bernie or AOC" type of candidate in 2028 or else we are doomed to lose to the GOP in 2028.

Their whole reasoning was "culture wars and identity politics" and the "border" where we get crushed at, but like, these really good lefty candidates arent into identity politics nor allowing mass immigration. Ironically the border mess happened under a moderate president.

My frustration stems from influencers and pundits shouldnt be saying "we should only elect this type of candidate" without allowing the best candidate to win the primary, whether there AOC or Joe Biden type of candidate.

I dont know how I will vote in 2028 primaries, but I for certain know, the democratic base is not going to go for an moderate dem who just wants to put things back to the way they were. We need bigger and bolder ideas and limiting our candidates to "moderates and normies" is a sure fire way to repeat the mistakes of the past.

Feel like ken martin and his team walked into this interview thinking he can repeat the same line 50 different ways without ever saying anything of substance.

It was just pre-canned lines. Bad interview. Insulting to think the DNC still thinks that democrats are the same of 2017 or even 2023
