Should i buy something for myself?

I work blue collar construction job. I work mostly 6 days a week. Hard physical job very taxing on the body. During the week I leave the house at 5:30am and not back till 4pm if I work 10hr day make that 6pm.

I have a house paid off. Im 34 years old. I have 40k cash in the bank and am saving 8k plus a month currently. With tax back payment coming soon. And I can take a leave payout if I wanted

My misses wants a new car 40k expense. We have one 2 year old and one in the oven due September.

My hobby that I dont get a lot of time for is riding motorbikes. With kids and work im lucky to get out once a month.

Now they bought out a mountain bike that is half moto and half push bike the first of its kind. I have trails on my back door step to ride such a bike and a 30 minute burn after work or on a Sunday sounds amazing me. The bike is 8.5k

I also want to leave a 20k emergency fund at all times

What would you do?

Should I buy my 2 year old a dirtbike?

I myself never had a dirtbike as a child. Its honestly all I ever wanted. I did have a hand me down bmx from age 4 onwards and I rode that bike up until at lest 7 or 8.

I'd draw imagines of dirtbikes and me riding. Id dream about riding dirtbikes. My dreams would turn to nightmares, I'd look down and the foot pegs turn to peddles.

I bought my first dirtbike as soon as I could afford one at the age of 20. A 2001 yz125. I was in love. I was on that bike every weekend.

Now at 35 I still love riding and ride as often as possible. Im still out riding every other weekend.

My 2 year and I ride around the driveway, along the bike track and when we get time even the pump track. I can see that hos just like i was. He loves riding. He loves to be with other kids that are riding. He rides around the tabble in the house for 20 mins at a time.

His 2 and 3months now. His getting really good on the balance bike and I think he is ready to get on a balance e bike with a throttle. Something like the stacyc 12.

The question is..

Iv worked really hard to get to where I am today and am in a really good financial position un like my single mother was all those years ago. I can easily go and buy him whatever he wants. Id love to see him on that new bike ripping around and I want to be riding moto with him as soon as possible! How can I somehow teach him that he cant have everything and nothing comes easy? I feel he needs to achieve somthing. Like when he climbs a playground and yells "I did it daddy" he has drive and determination that I never want to take from him
