I've been a reader as long as I can remember; getting lost in a book is my happy place. But recently I've been longing for a book where the main character is a muslim gal who wears a hijab, like me! Yes, a lot of these images are romance-driven, but any genre is lovely! Thank you so much, fellow book lovers!
I am an anime-only kind of person, but sometimes venture into manga if I love the series. This got me wondering, since I've heard the adaptation is pretty much faithful to the manga. So that brings me to the question: to all of y'all who have read it, what is your favourite manga?
So um... I've been scared of asking this, but could they be straight? Like, not that it's the same, but my very close gal pals and I act close together, like it could be seen as lesbian, almost? I've only watched the anime, but I don't think it was ever outright stated what they are/were attracted to. Is this a weird question... anyways, Ash and Eiji aside, any other characters are also welcome!
When Ash is fighting Blanca, he says there's still no heft behind his punch and that he should bulk up; he was anorexic when it happened, but Blanca says it like he's been telling Ash for years. We also see him at a restaurant and have just a salad, and his favorite breakfast (eiji make him) is also a salad of sorts. He is always doing physically active things, but doesn't eat enough calories. Is this just in my head, like why??!!
While going through the subreddit, I didn't see anything on Blanca. So here I am to ask about him: do we like him, or maybe not?

I'm working on an old WIP, but I just can't start without having a name for my FMC. I just can't connect to her or the story It MUST start with the letter "K"
About the character: She is of high birth, so a long and royal type name! But I admit she will be going by a nickname/alius for the most part, like "Kae" But the again still not sure.
A name I personally like is "Kaeliana" (Kay-lee-ah-nah). Except everyone I asked says the name is bad.
It would mean the world to me if you could suggest something, or even just let me know what you think of the name!

My favourites are: (not in order)
Princess Mononoke: The character, the story, the visuals, aagh!!! the dynamic between the main characters to??!!! What's not to love?
Howl's Moving Castle: This is just such a comfort movie for me, the voice acting?! and the soundtrack?!
Castle in the Sky: This is one of the first I watched. I'm still on the edge of my seat whenever I rewatch it!
Porco Rosso: I was putting this off for so long, but the way the women were portrayed made me so happy. Porco's reaction to finding out women were building his plane still makes me chuckle.
The cat returns: This was my most recent watch! The whole movie feels like a fever dream, the only movie that I finished, I just wanted to click replay. The movie just felt so whimsical!
Spirted away: All the awards speak for themselves, perfect! I really wish I could just somehow fly on a breathing dragon in the air!
The wind rises: This movie is so good!! And don't get me started on his voice! The character dynamics to! his passion for planes?!
Whoops, went on a rant! What's your favourite Ghibli movie? Is there one I haven't watched that I should? And what's your favourite thing about Ghibli movies? I personally love the characters' personalities, the storylines, the whimsy, the visuals, the voice acting, the fact that any age can enjoy them, I can go on forever, the movies are just so good. I make my own Marshmallows mostly because it's very hard to find some that have vegan/halal gelatin. I was wondering what else I can do with it? I make Rice Crispy Treats often. I love them! But I'm out, and was wondering what else I can do with it. I can't wait to see your ideas!
Decided to spend 20-40 minutes every night as a family watching something there, not picky about it, as long as it's appropriate. Were watching Witch Hat Atelier together, my younger siblings (not that young) can wait for more to come out, my brother, who is picky, also didn't mind, and my mom watched as well because it's in English, but she liked it as well.
So I'm looking for an anime that's dubbed and is appropriate, any genre, except romance, they don't enjoy that. Anime like Mushishi, we've watched some eps, it's perfect, its apropriate and not a kids' show, pg13 is fine, but even some of those aren't appropriate. Does that make sense? Get creative!
So the family decided to watch something together every night. I'm looking for an anime I can watch with no fan service! nudity whatsoever, adult jokes, female characters where their chests are exposed/in your face, yes, this means Mitsuri and Nezuko in demon form. And I did something similar a while back, and had people saying, "You're being a bad parent," "What's your problem with women with big chests?"
