you think my manager wanted me out?

**Do you think my manager wanted me out?**

I quit my Sam’s Club job today. My hours kept getting cut — first to **1 day a week, then to nothing for weeks with only a couple random days**, and eventually I was completely off the schedule.

I went in today to tell my manager I was quitting. They were in a meeting, so I waited almost 30 minutes. A team lead was sitting in the office. When my manager came out, I heard the team lead say, **“There he is.”**

My manager came over and said she needed to talk to an associate. I said, **“Wait, this isn’t going to take long,”** and then I explained that because of the lack of hours and everything, I decided to move on to different opportunities.

She said, **“I understand,”** and then **“I’m so sorry.”**

Do you think she was genuinely sorry about my hours being cut, or does this interaction make it seem like she wanted me out anyway? What do you think?

Do you think Sam’s Club is trying to get rid of me?**

I’m a part-time employee at Sam’s Club, and I’m trying to figure out what’s going on with my schedule.

Last week I had around 22 hours, but now I’m only scheduled for **one 6-hour shift next week**, and I have **nothing scheduled for the rest of the month**.

My manager told me that the available hours are going to full-time employees and that I may not get more hours until September.

I’m still technically an employee and have that one shift scheduled.

Do you think they’re simply cutting my hours because of staffing/hour availability, or does this sound like they’re trying to get rid of me without actually firing me?

Has anyone else had their hours cut this drastically?

Part-time hours cut from 22 to 5.5 a week. Has anyone been through this?

I work maintenance at Sam's Club. My normal schedule has been Sunday through Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (about 22 hours a week).

Today, after I got home from work, my manager called me and said that next week I'm only scheduled for one day (Wednesday), and then I'll basically be off until they need more people in September.

She told me it's because I'm part-time and they're giving the available hours to the full-time employees, not because I did anything wrong.

The problem is I'm worried because my household is on Section 8, and they're currently calculating my rent based on my recent paychecks. Now my income is dropping a lot, and I'm not sure how this is going to affect things.

Has anyone else had their hours cut like this at Sam's Club or another retail job? Did your hours eventually come back? Also, if you've been in a similar situation with Section 8 or another housing program, how did you handle reporting the drop in income?

Any advice or experiences would really help. Thanks.
