Word losses

I've been trying to use Plaud to help with a mineralogical analysis I'm working on at the microscope. Basically, I count grains and read out the mineral at each count. I've added all terms to my custom dictionary, I'm speaking loudly and clearly several inches from the device, the device is outside of its sleeve, and there is no external noise. Nonetheless, Plaud is consistently losing 5% to 15% of the words I'm reading into the device. I even tried reading back from Plaud's own transcript as a test and again got about 8% fewer words back. Is this lossiness expected or is there maybe some tweaking that would help improve the word recovery? Thanks

Parametric text?

I've only just started learning Fusion a couple of months ago. I'm using it to model functional parts and jigs for 3D printing. I often need to fit test parts through trial and error especially when I'm trying different filaments and print parameters. To keep track, I'll emboss dimensions on the part so that I know which model I'm dealing with when I finally get the right fit. Right now, my typical workflow would be to set up relevant parameters, create the timeline, make a sketch box, insert text, emboss it, and export. To make multiple parts, I change a parameter and then have to go back and edit the text for the new dimension. I don't know if I'm missing something, but is there a way to enter the parameter name in the text box as a variable so that the embossed text automatically updates with each parameter change? I've posted a screenshot to give a sense of what I'm talking about. The 788 refers to the 0.788" hole diameter that's set as a parameter. Thanks!

Edit: Thanks everyone for pointing me in the right direction. Along the way, I learned that you can simply multiply the parameter name by 1000 to have the text in mils rather than decimal form. I had a harder time finding out how to exclude the units. I kept trying variations on subtraction only to find that you use a slash. So, to reproduce what's in the screenshot: HoleDiameter*1000/in

Ruler veneer project

I apologize for the noob question. However, it seems you all are reasonably tolerant of simple questions despite what is obviously considerable talent. Anyway, I've recently got into 3D printing primarily to build practical parts, jigs, and other fixtures for my laboratory. I'm a few lessons in on Fusion in 30 days and that's been a big help. ChatGPT not so much. A lot of other YT videos seem wildly out of date.

One thing I've been working on this past week is a measurement cradle for sample photography. The intent is to make a thin veneer on a planar panel that contains a simple ruler in an alternating pattern of black and white bars. This will extend to about 3 feet with segments held together magnetically. I plan to have the cradle in black and the white parts having a depth of about 0.04". I've attached a couple of images showing a sample coupon.

This seems like this should be a simple entry level problem but I'm having a hell of a time creating this in Fusion in such a way that a 3mf imported to Bambu Studio recognizes that I need two filaments. I'm sensing that I should be creating each bar and number as a separate and unjoined body by sketching each out and extruding them over the planar surface. Seems a bit inelegant but I thought that might work? Seems not to work when I import.

I'd appreciate any guidance anyone might be able to offer. I obviously don't expect a full blown procedure, but a couple of words pointing me in the right direction would be wonderful.

Thanks very much!

Shared Services Consent

TL;DR: Walgreens new Shared Services consent is an offense to customers

I'm new here and I apologize if I'm posting inappropriately. It appears customers are welcome to post. That said, I'm a regular Walgreens customer and want to preface this by saying I have tremendous respect for how hard it is to have a public-facing job. It's especially challenging to be a pharmacist or pharmacy employee where you are also concerned about your customers' health.

Anyway, I was picking up my medications this morning at my local Walgreens and on the checkout keypad was asked to consent to Walgreens enrolling me in a new "Shared Services" program. There was no button to deny consent, only a button to talk to the staff. I was told that if I didn't agree I would have to wait for them to reverse the order and reprocess it...every single time I pick up prescriptions. Essentially Walgreens (the corporation, not the hard-worked pharmacy staff) was going to make my life difficult if I didn't agree to their program. I asked for paperwork explaining the program. The entities that might be given my personal information to help process my medications includes Centralized Services, PhLEX Support, Phone Support, Micro-fulfillment, and Workload Balancing. There was no indication of how many of these were hired third parties and what their security policies were.

I understand that a program like this can help reduce the workload for pharmacy staff on the floor. Some relief is sorely needed. I am truly shocked at the current working conditions for licensed pharmacists and certified technicians while giant corporations involved in health and wellness are making record profits. With that in mind, I felt terrible denying the pharmacy my consent and making the pharmacist have to stop and reprocess my prescription. But I cannot in good faith allow Walgreens to share my personal medical information with any mercenary that offers the lowest price. And yes, I know I'm being a bit dense if I assume this isn't already happening. But sometimes you have to take small stands. I had a nice conversation with the pharmacist after the whole ordeal and learned about his history and how he lost his private pharmacy to corporate greed. I truly feel for this man.

Though I would hate to make Walgreens employees have to work any harder than they already do, I would encourage anyone who can to resist this additional grab by Walgreens and tell them they can't do anything they want with your private information.
