THE TRUMAN SHOW

Rewatched my favourite film today, and I’ve found many things that I haven’t noticed before. I’m amazed that a movie less than 2 hours long has so many things in it, without putting them on our face.

One is about free will and how a person is not bound by anything, even God. In the movie, the creator of the show is basically like God. We often hear people say/believe that everything is already written by God, just like the script creator of the show has written. But Truman Burbank never cared about it and tried for what he wanted, and succeeded.

Another aspect is how they’ve shown how wrong people in general are. The reason the show ran for nearly 30 years is because of people. They knew Truman was living a scripted life, everything was scripted, but they didn’t care at all. They just wanted some entertainment. But they act like they are so concerned about him; they feel for him. When Truman comes out of that island, we see a scene where policemen just give each other a look and change the channel. For them, his life is just another show.

It also shows that a few people are opposed to the idea of this show. We can see that when Truman’s love interest confronts the show creator. We can see a poster saying something like “Make Truman Free”. This says that there are a few good people too.

Another aspect is media manipulation. When Truman wants to go to Fiji, we see a TV show talking about reviews of the film, where it says that staying home is greater than travelling. When he gets his plane ticket, we see a poster of a flight getting struck by lightning, constantly. But he goes against all this and goes for what he wants. In a way, it talks about individuality, having your own opinions, etc.

Watched Odyssey today

Chala movies ki velthunna sare edho chota oka incompleteness feeling undedhi. Oka completeness ochedhi kadhu. Chala days ga mood kooda antha sarigga le, nen anukunnantha productive ga avvatle. And Dunkirk, Oppenheimer, Tenet kooda Nolan mundhu movies antha enjoy cheyalekapoya. So inka lite ga theesukundham anukunna. But enduko ivala morning levagane bms open chesa. Ekkuva aalochinchakunda ticket book chesesa.

AND IT IS TOTALLY WORTH IT. Nen choodalenu anukkuna Peak Nolan ni experience chesa in theatre. This movie is one of the best things that happened to me in these past few days.

Asala okko scene choosthunte, the experience I was getting I just can't explain in words. The making style, aa sound, aa elevationlu, aa drama.

It's like watching Monalisa being painted antar ga atlane anipinchindhi.

And that too okkadne vellaanu. Its just me and movie and nothing in between.

My first introduction to world cinema happened through Nolan films with Inception, Interstellar. The way he made his first film has always been inspiration to me in achieving my goals. So Nolan has always been a special director for me. Appatlo chala rojulu naa WhatsApp dp Nolan picture undedhi.

And today I've experienced a Nolan's movie and enjoyed every bit of it.

Thank you CHRISTOPHER NOLAN.

How do I come out of never ending worry cycle??

So from the past 10 days, I'm not having proper sleep. Daily I'm trying to sleep around 12 but one thought leading to other, I couldn't sleep even at 4:00AM.

It feels like my brain is just finding things to worry about. How do I come out of this? It is really effecting me.
