Indian semiconductor engineer with 3.5 years’ experience considering Lund University — worth it for a semiconductor career?

Hi! I’m a 2024 B.Tech graduate in Electronics & Communication Engineering from India and currently work at GlobalFoundries as a Fab Integration & Yield Engineer.

By Fall 2027, I expect to have around 3.5 years of total professional experience, including ~2.5 years specifically at GlobalFoundries in the semiconductor industry.

I’m considering Lund University as one of my Master’s options in Europe. My long-term goal is to move toward semiconductor design/DFT/DFM/physical design and related engineering roles.

Considering moving to Eindhoven for a Master’s after 3.5 years in semiconductors — how is life/career really like?

How difficult is housing and the general cost of living for students?
